Denver International Airport is a 5-hour (beautiful) drive from Crested Butte through the Rockies. There are also regular flights from Denver to the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport which is a 30-minute drive from Crested Butte.
There is a bus you can take from Denver International Airport (DIA) to Crested Butte. You will need to book this bus in advance. This bus leaves from Denver's Union Station, which you can reach from the airport by taking the A line train from DIA.
There's also a shuttle that runs from the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport to Crested Butte. You'll want to schedule a ride in advance.
If you're driving to Crested Butte from DIA, expect a 5-hour drive through the mountains. Expect at times to be ~45 minutes from the nearest gas station. There is at least one mountain pass (Cottonwood Pass) you'll need to cross, but it is not precarious and there's not likely to be snow. If you'd like to avoid driving up the pass, navigate to Gunnison before continuing on to Crested Butte.
Crested Butte is the town proper where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There's a 5-8 minute drive to get from the town of Crested Butte to Mt. Crested Butte, the area around the ski mountain where the wedding will be held.
Staying in either town will have you close to the action! We'd advise renting a car to get around easily, but if you decide against it, you'll want to stay near the shuttle to navigate between both towns.
There are a variety of Airbnb, VRBO, and lodge options throughout Crested Butte. You'll also find hotels in Gunnison (a 30-minute drive away.) If you see options for stays in Aspen, you've gone too far!
Ride share services like Uber are available in CB, but they're limited - especially since we'll be there during the off season. The town is testing an on-demand ride service that can drop you off at the venue! You'll likely be within the pickup region if you're staying in town or in Mt. Crested Butte, but double check against the service map. Check out the FastTracks section at the bottom of this page for more info and links to download the app. Rides run until 12:15 am.
There's also a town shuttle that drops off at the ski mountain about a 15 minute walk from our venue. The last bus picks up at the ski mountain at 11:47 PM. You can check the summer schedule here.
