It was a typical Saturday of watching Harmony perform in her local dance show. When arriving home after a busy day of dance, Tom offered Holly a glass of wine and asked if she wanted to catch the sunset on the dock. Tom, Holly and Harmony often make time to enjoy the sunset together, so Holly didn’t think anything of the request. The three of them headed down to the dock and shortly after, Harmony asked if they could play “hangman.” Tom told her to go ahead and run back to the house for a notepad. Holly thought it was a little strange that Tom didn’t just tell Harmony they could play when they got back to the house, but didn’t question it. Holly cozied up to Tom while they waited for Harmony as it was a chilly evening. Tom couldn’t help but wonder what was taking Harmony so long thinking she wasn’t going to make it back in time for sunset (what was only a few minutes was feeling like forever). Tom had asked for Harmony’s blessing to propose to Holly prior to doing so, but Harmony wasn’t aware of when or how it would happen, therefore had no idea Tom was planning to do it at that moment. When Harmony got back to the dock with a notebook, Tom started the game of “Hangman” choosing words for Harmony and Holly to guess first. After only a couple of letters were guessed, Holly had a pretty good idea of what Tom had spelled out but couldn’t believe it. Harmony also quickly realized and started beaming with joy and made Holly guess the rest of the letters. Holly didn’t want to say the words aloud, so she continued to guess letter by letter until the words “Will You Marry Me” were revealed. In that moment, Tom shared how he was not only looking forward to a summer with Holly and Harmony, but also a lifetime. He went on to share sweet words (most of which Holly can’t remember because she was so in awe, but she’s quite certain they were beautiful) and finally reached into his pocket and got down on one knee. After Tom asked Holly to marry him, she was ecstatic, yet still in shock, and couldn’t refrain herself from nearly knocking him over as she said “Yes!” while Tom was doing his best to get to his feet and not drop the ring on the dock and into the water! Thankfully, the ring stayed securely in the box until Tom slipped it on Holly’s finger while the sun continued to set and make the perfect backdrop for the entire moment.
