Our Love Story
The Perfect "Match"
How we met:
July 12. 2019 David sent me a message on Match saying "Hey, I just joined match and am new to the dating scene. Would love to talk if you're not busy tonight." We messaged a bit that day and talked on the phone the very next day on and off for 3 weeks while he worked in Kentucky. Eventually he was back in town and asked to take me out that weekend. I had already had other plans. Then a few days later Tuesday August 6, 2019, I sent him a text message "I am hopping in the shower now and getting ready if you would like to take me out." He suprisingly was still in town and responded with " I have reservations at the Wine Bistro in Worthington at 7:00."
My first impression was WOW these men still do exist. He pulled out my chair and still does to this day! My second was WOW He is much better looking than the profile dad pictures of him on match. He says for me it was love at 1st sight and I am not going to argue with him. His first impression of me was she has a beautiful smile. His second was WOW she really likes me. I have never had anyone lay a kiss on me like that!
We talked for 2 hours before ordering food or drinks. Then another 2 hours until the restaurant was closed. We continued to talk daily and went on dates often. September 14, 2019 He wrote me a cute little note and asked me to be his girlfriend with 2 little check boxes. The Yes was very large and the no was so small I could not have checked it even if I wanted to.
The Engagement
January 28, 2022, He took me on a vacation to San Diego, California. I had an entire itinerary planned out and he was not sure how he was going to fit it in. After an amazing day hiking in Torree Pines National Park, I suggested that we get dressed up and go out. He thought it would be a great idea to go to Sunset Cliffs and watch the beautiful sunset. While we were there, he said he had something for me, I turned around and he was half kneeled down with a closed ring box. He opened it and it was a pair of pearl earrings that I had previously said that I had wanted. He then followed it up with I have something else for you. He pulled a pearl necklace out of his pocket. He put it on me and had me turn around to so he could see it. When I turned around, he was kneeling on one knee with the same closed ring box and opened it and there was my beautiful engagement ring. He said "you know how we have talked about- when you know you know" Well I have known for a very long time and was waiting for the perfect moment to ask you to be my wife." I have never had an easier YES in my life!! NOW on August 5, 2023, I get to be his wife!!! I cannot wait.
Fun Facts
- David had the engagement ring for 9 months and it traveled on 2 vacations within arm's reach on the plane in case it went down so he could profess his love to me.
-The locations of our 1st 4 dates have been shut down.
-If we had not put a 50-mile radius on our match.com profile we would have never met. If David realized that I lived a full 49.1 miles from him the 1st date would not have happened.
-The 1st 6 months that we dated David worked out of state and I drove 430 miles round trip after work just to see him a few hours and back for work the next morning.
- In the 3 years that we have been together we have already vacationed in 9 different states.
-We ate off each other's plates on the first date.
