It seems unlikely that a guy from Madison, Wisconsin would meet a girl from small-town Grinnell, Iowa, but God was at work in the fall of 2022 at Augustana College, Illinois.

After Halloween, Trey finally worked up the courage to ask Kara out on a date despite having a crush on her for months. Kara agreed and we had our first date at the Brewed Book Coffee House on November 6th, 2022. We celebrate this as the official start of our relationship.

Our journey together continued through a lot of transition as we finished our time at Augustana College. Trey graduated in 2023 and started his studies at Wartburg theological Seminary. Kara graduated in 2024, and she now studies in a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Iowa.

Living in different cities has been filled with challenges but it has strengthened our love and commitment for each other in the long run.

We look forward to the path that God has set out before us, guiding us as we continue our walk together through life!
