In late August of 2014, countless excited college students began descending upon Madison, WI, ready to begin their freshman year, make new friends, start their lives, and see what the future holds. For Trish and Andrew, who had never met before, a chance dorm floor assignment would cause their paths to cross and change their lives forever.

Assigned as next door neighbors in the grungy halls of Sellery floor 9A, Trish and Andrew quickly became friends, as well as forming life-long friendships with the other amazing members of their floor. Their similarities far outweighed their differences, and they both felt they would be in each others’ lives for a while. Growing up only 30 mins or so from each other, they both liked Harry Potter, shared memories of Summerfest, and even coincidentally had both gone to schools with Wildcats and Warhawks as mascots. To Andrew, Trish was someone who felt like home.

Throughout college, Trish and Andrew remained great friends. They spent lots of time together, from study sessions, Badger games and parties, and even adventures abroad while they each spent a semester in Europe.

Following college, Andrew moved to Chicago to begin his big boy life while Trish finished up her final year of school. Without realizing it, their friendship had become inseparable, and they were in contact every day.

It wasn’t until Andrew traveled back for a Badger gameday that their relationship took the first step out of the "friend zone". It was a confusing time for them both as they still remained friends and lived in different cities, but the distance didn’t matter for these two. Andrew would come back to WI on weekends and Trish would visit in Chicago. They would even watch the same Netflix episodes at the same time, cities apart, communicating in real time about the show.

Ironically, these two friends officially started dating in 2019 when Andrew and Trish attended the Two Friends concert (yes, that’s the group name) in Madison.

Since then, it’s been nothing but fun, with annual trips to Door County, countless memories with family and friends, and eventually a proposal in beautiful Hawaii.
