Where should we park for the ceremony at the Newman Center?
There is metered parking around the church and nearby parking garages on campus. There are also two parking garages located on 17th and R street as well as 14th and Q street. There is a parking lot diagonal from the church on the south, west corner of the intersection - parking here is questionable depending on the day. I usually park here unless there is an event and they have someone guarding the entrance.
CAN I ATTEND THE CEREMONY IF I AM NOT CATHOLIC?
Of course! Everyone is welcome and we are excited to have all of our loved ones celebrating with us. No worries if you have never attended a Catholic mass - the priest will direct the ceremony. During communion, feel free to either remain in the pew or you may come up and receive a blessing.
How much time should I allot to get from the ceremony to the reception?
It takes about 30 minutes to get from the Newman Center to Seven Willows which is in Hickman, NE - this is south, east of Lincoln. See the next picture for a map & directions between the two locations.
Turn by turn directions as follows:
1) Take South 16th Street south from the Newman Center.
2) Turn west on L street, which will turn into Rosa Parks Way.
3) Take Rosa Parks Way for a few miles and then merge onto Highway 77 south.
4) Take a left turn to merge onto Nebraska Highway 2 East.
5) Take the exit onto South 82nd Street.
6) At the roundabout, take the first exit onto South 82nd Street.
7) Turn right onto Panama Road. Seven Willows will be on your right (large barn). There will be a large gravel parking lot where you can park.
