There were many moments throughout their relationship Tiana thought Tristan would pop the question. Like the time he surprised her with a trip to Paris in 2018, when they took a spontaneous trip to Japan in 2020, or when they spent their first night in the home they purchased in 2020. But a proposal never eventuated and Tiana would have to wait.

In February 2022 Tiana had lunch with one of her Bridesmaids Steph, who somehow held together the mother of all poker faces. Knowing full well a Parashko Mays proposal was on the horizon, Steph sat at the Village Crown in Zetland with Tiana listening to how their anniversary was next week and how badly she wanted a ring. Little did Tiana know that Tristan had been planning a proposal with Steph for weeks.

On February 18th 2022, Tiana and Tristan celebrated their anniversary. They went for a walk, had breakfast and Tristan had so subtly asked if Tiana wanted to go get her nails done. Thinking it was just another anniversary, Tiana shrugged this off and went to the gym instead. Upon arriving home from the gym there was a picnic with candles and wine, and their favourite album playing (Life of Pablo, Kanye West).

Although they agreed on no presents, Tristan said he had bought something small and for Tiana to close her eyes. When she opened, Tristan was on one knee and FINALLY asked "Will you marry me?"
