Q + A

What are some good areas to visit near the villa?

Florence- 1 hour, Bologna- 2 hours, Pisa - 2 hours, Siena - 2.5 hours, Cinque terre- 2.5-3 hours, lastly Tuscany surrounding area (you are there already!)

What is a good sample itinerary?

Start in Florence as it is a great city and great home base .. from here you can easily train to: - Siena 1 hr, - Pisa 1 hr which is en route to cinque terre. Cinque terre is just under 2 hr from Florence (starts in la spezia) lastly the surrounding Tuscany wine country; many wine tours on air b and b are based out of Florence and Siena … If you are staying for longer time frame Rome is a 1.5 hour train ride from Florence

How long should I stay in these places ?

Florence city - 2 full days for just Florence. Siena city- great day trip or 1 night. Siena tuscan country side and San Gimignona* - There are lots of beautiful villas around Siena and San Gimignona if you are looking for an “under the Tuscan sun” experience ! Pisa- day trip. Cinque terre- in the summer heat it’s great to see cinque terre from the water , there are boat tours from Pisa , la spezia, and Florence which are a full full day. If wanting to stay in cinque terre check out spending a night or two in one of the beautiful costal villages monterosso or vernazza But if you can get yourself on a boat along the coast highly highly recommend ! Plan on taking the train to get to these costal cities as driving in cinque terre is not recommended . Tuscany region- includes the cities of Siena, Pisa, and Florence .. you can easily spend 7-10 days covering areas mentioned above plus some of the wine region like Chianti and montepulciano !
