The story begins when Tynaiza and Devin met through their mutual friends Jaevan (Co-Best Man) and Chelsea (Bridesmaid) in 2014 while Devin was a college senior and Tynaiza was a college junior at UNC Charlotte. Their friendship continued to blossom through the friend group over the next several years. When Chelsea moved across the country in 2016, Devin and Tynaiza lost contact. Devin will tell anyone who asks that he was mistakenly convinced Tynaiza actually moved to Florida (which she did not). However, the stars aligned when Chelsea made her return to Charlotte in 2017. Devin and Tynaiza reconnected through a "Welcome Back" get together. After hanging out in the friend group a few more times, Devin mustered up the courage to ask Tynaiza on their first date. She agreed and on October 8, 2017 they went on their first date. From that moment on, they were practically inseparable. From Asheville to Charleston to Atlanta to New York and more their love grew with every mile travelled. On November 18, 2018 Devin surprised Tynaiza in the most beautiful way.
