In the early summer of 2019, fate brought Kevin and Vanessa together in the most unexpected way. Kevin was working at Jakeabob’s Bay, and Vanessa was enjoying a night out. After a night of shared glances, light flirting, and a growing connection, Vanessa decided to take the leap. Luckily for her, one of her best friends from high school worked alongside Kevin and helped make the first move.

What followed was a coffee date that stretched for hours, filled with easy conversation and an undeniable connection. At the time, Vanessa was finishing her final year at Penn State, so she returned to school, but the two kept in touch.

Soon, Vanessa planned a trip home for Thanksgiving, and as fate would have it, that weekend coincided with Kevin renting his very first gym. In a sweet twist, Vanessa became his first personal training client. After her workout, they went to a local diner, where laughter and long conversations turned an ordinary day into something special. One of Kevin’s favorite memories of their relationship came from this day — a perfect blend of connection and joy.

Day after day, Vanessa returned to the gym, and with each visit, their bond grew stronger. Before long, Kevin invited Vanessa to his family’s early Thanksgiving celebration. After meeting his entire family, Kevin knew Vanessa was the one.

On the day before Thanksgiving, November 27, 2019, Kevin told — not asked — Vanessa that she was his girlfriend. Though Vanessa had to head back to school to finish her semester, and Kevin continued to grow Stonefitt, they made the long-distance relationship work with endless phone calls and FaceTime chats until they could be together again.

Then, in 2020, the pandemic unexpectedly brought Vanessa home for good. What could have been a difficult time turned into the beginning of something extraordinary. With Vanessa living at her mom’s house and Kevin just down the street, their relationship flourished.

Together, they adapted Stonefitt to the challenges of the pandemic, taking the business online and building it into something they were both proud of. Through long days, late nights, and countless challenges, they leaned on each other and grew stronger — not just as business partners, but as life partners.

Fast forward five incredible years filled with love, laughter, and growth. The couple traveled to many places together, continued opening businesses, and even started their family with their puppy, Rogue. On October 26, 2024, Kevin proposed to Vanessa at one of their favorite restaurants, Papi Steak, in Miami. It was the perfect moment in a place that held so many cherished memories.

Now, as we prepare to take this next step together, we are reminded of how far we’ve come — from our first coffee date to building a life and a dream together. We can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter with all of you.
