Where the story begins.. We could start when Veronica was born but no-one actually needs that story. So we shall start here. August 2018. Veronica made this crazy decision to leave her home of Wisconsin and all of her friends and family (that she loves dearly) to do this thing called school again. So she moves to Houston and starts her MBA at Rice University. She knows her life is changing but has no idea of all that is soon to come. (seriously she has no idea!)

Brandon's side stats off a lot less risky! At this time he is advancing steadily along the Oil and Gas career path...secretly sneaking off to his favorite coffee shop to make video games on the side. He had no idea that soon his life would be changed forever in the coming months.

So how do these two meet? The magic of online dating. As Brandon sits at his favorite coffee shop, though he claims to be working on developing new apps, here he is really swiping through tinder to find some lucky girl to talk to. Veronica, also pretending to study accounting or finance or some other crap, says hey what better way to explore a new city then some tinder dates (that's plural but lets be honest there weren't many). So anyhoo - the magic of tinder led to a match and a first date at a Mediterranean restaurant. A date that started with food and ended with a really really long chat standing in a parking lot. I guess we could say the date went well. Now if you were to ask either of them the exact date of this occurrence, you'd be met with shrugs because they honestly have no idea. Who needs a date anniversary when you can have a wedding.

Of course all of the typical dates were had. Movies, ice skating, free concerts & lots and lots of food over many wonderful months. Then came the first out of city trip, to the wonderful city of Austin. Here they experienced some late night donut shop Voodoo Donuts... honestly not very impressive, just a really long line. But they much enjoyed some hiking in the middle of some fancy rich neighborhood.

So as dating is sailing by smoothly, Brandon decides that after 8 months its finally appropriate to meet some family. So they head out on a family trip to California together. Good thing Brandon's family is sweet and amazing or else that could've been an awkward few days.

Who doesn't like spur of the moment trips? Not these two. For some unknown reason, and honestly on some unknown weekend, these two jump in the car and head over to New Orleans. The airbnb was super tiny and not the cleanest of places, but who cares, the food was amazing! They drank mystery voodoo slushies on their haunted walking tour, enjoyed museums and listened to great music late into the night.

Then there was this one impromptu date in downtown Dallas. How do you impromptu date in a city that is 4 hours away you ask? Well Veronica was attempting to fly back to Houston from Wisconsin when she was met with delayed flights and "stormy" weather during her layover in Dallas. It was almost 11pm when Veronica got to Dallas and a little past midnight when she was finally told that the next flight out to Houston wouldn't be until 8am the next morning.. so that sucked. But guess who just so happened to be in Dallas that weekend for a conference, yeppers, Brandon. So with a dying phone Veronica managed to Uber over to Brandon for the night. The next morning was spent cruising (aka trying not to die) around downtown Dallas on those scooters and well eating of course.

Alright - so it's like a year in and Veronica is like real close to being just like family in the Smith Household. So the family rolls on out and Veronica gets to experience her first LSU game. Shoutout to Brandon's dad for the on the field pass.

Christmas of 2019, Brandon finally gets out of Texas to experience the lovely cold of Wisconsin. He gets the crazy, too many presents under the tree, packed-house, Christmas Eve tradition at Julie's house. Brandon finally understands what power hour at Nitty Gritty is all about, and experiences walking in the cold from bar to bar downtown Madison. But oddly enough, he got NO snow. (It actually snowed the day right after he left).

AND... The moment you all have been waiting for.. The PROPOSAL. It started like any other Valentine's day...with a random assortment of gifts, and a trip to an overpriced Seafood restaurant. Veronica had no (I mean literally none at all) idea of what was to come at the end of the date. The originally planned after dinner activities were canceled last minute, but thanks to some quick thinking, the evening was salvaged with a paint night. The ring and the question were actually presented privately at home after the date. Probably a good move.

Oh yeah - Covid hit. Brandon and Veronica basically spent 5 months living in a singular bedroom. Eating, sleeping, working, schooling.. that was fun. But trips out of the house now became that much more exciting. They even randomly found their way down to Galveston for a sandy picnic.

Newly engaged and amidst a pandemic, Brandon and Veronica decide to buy a home. It all happened so quickly, houses were literally flying off the market. But after a mad rush of searching they found the perfect house to call home.

Let's recap 2020: Engagement, Covid shut down, Graduation, Home Purchase. That sounds eventful enough for a year. NOPE, not for Veronica and Brandon, they decided to have kids! 3 of them to be exact. With schools still closed in Wisconsin and Veronica working from home, they let 3 crazy kids, Amira, Talayaja and Dwan, move in for the first quarter of school. They all enjoyed basketball practice days to get rid of energy, and Brandon enjoyed the 2 hours of silence at home.

So, remember when the kids were only supposed to stay for a quarter, well that got extended! So even though Amira and Talayaja weren't too thrilled about another 6 weeks away from home (let's be honest they just didn't want to read before bed anymore), they all figured out ways to keep the peace and have some fun. (They would NOTrecommend waiting in line for a Christmas light show for 4 hours - BIG mistake).

As the crazy year of 2020 came to an end, Veronica and Brandon became empty nesters and began to fill their time with working out, eating health and prepping for their big day. They're ready to party, the question is... are you?
