We met at a bar, which we jokingly say was one baby-step above Tinder. There were several jokes made about Veronica's Kentucky roots, but look who fell for her 'southern' charm after all!

Next, we planned to meet up for coffee for our first date at Coffee Emporium. The day?!? Well, it happened to be Valentine's Day! Our conversation ran on so long that Veronica's meter ran out of time without her knowing. No worries, no ticket! It was also in 2015 when our running hobby began. Actually it began with a bet, of all things. Brad bet that he could beat Veronica in a 10k race, romantic right? He did beat her, BUT she got her revenge later in 2017 when she ran her first full marathon, a full two minutes faster than his first attempt.

Brad had mentioned very early on that his top bucket list destination was Australia, so it was no surprise that he chose Australia for his 30th birthday travels. However what was a surprise was... the proposal! We had planned so many activities for the first stop on our Australian tour in Sydney Australia. We went on a brewery tour, did a sky walk on the tallest building in Sydney, a harbor boat tour, took the ferry to Manly beach, and so so much more- but someone had one more thing planned.

After a very long day of sight-seeing we went to our hotel to change and get ready for dinner, then one last drink at the Opera House Bar. After the drink, the sun was setting over the Opera House and we decided to walk up the steps to snap a few pics. After a few minutes of taking it all in, boom! Brad was on one knee! A few surprised expletives later, she said yes! The next morning we headed to Cairns, Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef among other things as fiances! The trip was an absolute dream, but coming home as fiances took the cake.
