Our Wedding

We met at a bar, which we jokingly say was&nbsp;one baby-step above Tinder. There were several jokes made about Veronica's Kentucky roots, but look who fell for her 'southern' charm after all!

Next, we planned to meet up for coffee for&nbsp;our first date at Coffee Emporium. The day?!?&nbsp;Well, it happened to be Valentine's Day! Our conversation ran on so long that Veronica's meter ran out of time without her knowing. No worries,&nbsp;no ticket!&nbsp;&nbsp;It was also in 2015 when our running hobby began. Actually it began with a bet, of all things. Brad bet that he could beat Veronica in a 10k race, romantic right? He did beat her, BUT she got her revenge later in 2017 when she ran her first full marathon, a full two minutes faster than his first attempt.&nbsp; 













Brad had mentioned very early on that his top bucket list destination was Australia, so it was no surprise that he chose Australia&nbsp;for his 30th birthday travels.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;However what was a surprise was...&nbsp;the proposal! We had planned so many activities for the first stop on our Australian tour in&nbsp;Sydney Australia. We went on a brewery tour,&nbsp; did a sky walk on the tallest building in Sydney, a&nbsp;harbor boat tour, took the ferry to Manly beach, and so so much more- but someone had one more thing planned.&nbsp;









After a very long day of sight-seeing&nbsp;we went to our hotel to change and get ready for dinner, then&nbsp;one last drink at the Opera House Bar. After the drink,&nbsp;the sun was setting over the Opera House and we decided to walk up the steps to snap a few pics. After a few minutes of taking it all in, boom!&nbsp;Brad was on one knee!&nbsp;A few surprised expletives later, she said yes! The next morning we headed to Cairns, Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef among other things as fiances! The trip was an absolute dream, but coming home as fiances took the cake.&nbsp;

Brave beyond measure, master chef, 5 ft 9 inches of kindness. 

 Ria and Veronica met in 2005 at High School orientation. (She probably doesn’t remember this because she literally has hundreds of close friends). One of Ria’s many talents is her amazing ability to turn beet red in one moment. It could be from embarrassment or laughter or really anything. Ria is also the most kind and peacekeeping friend a person can have, it’s hard not to be drawn to her. She is the best listener, she is patient, supportive, she is the rarest of the rare. Everyone needs a Ria.

Brad and Castle met back in 2007 as members of the same pledge class of Kappa Sigma at Ohio State. Luckily, he didn’t carry his fashion sense (pictured to the left) to college or he may never have been asked back to Kappa Sig. Castle has always been the dad of our&nbsp;friend group, even more so now that’s he’s a proud new father of Cormac! Proud, however, might not be the word that comes to Cormac’s mind when we inevitably show him the infamous picture.

Rachael will laugh with you until you are both in tears, even past the point where you forgot what was so funny in the first place.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Rachael and Veronica met in freshmen year of high school. The freshmen year class of 58 students&nbsp;was record breaking for the school and they must not have had enough time to order enough lockers, so some people had to share. Veronica and Rachael were somehow paired up (because Ruschman and Worden&nbsp;come so close to each other in the alphabet) and the rest is history. Rachael is always on the go, from undergrad at UD, vet school in Auburn, AL, and now working in San Jose as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine! Veronica was never far behind sharing many visits near and far, buying merch from all places Rachael has lived and pretending she also went to those schools. Near or far Rachael is a great listener supporter, and all-around fun-seeker.

Brad and Scott met freshman year in the Bradley Hall dorm. It was hard to miss Scott as he is by far the loudest person you will ever meet. That loud voice comes in handy come fall, where you will find him in the student section (as a 31-year-old) screaming for the buckeyes. (Update: you will now hear his Buckeye screams from Portland, OR as he recently moved out west for work). Our love for all things Ohio State started the friendship and it has grown and endured over all these years and an extremely one sided prank war of which the residents of Bradley Hall still talk about today&hellip;.(I lost, there, I admit it Scott).

Brad and Peter met freshman year at college through Scott when Peter was visiting from Miami University. The following year, after realizing Ohio State was far superior, Peter transferred. From there, the friendship thrived over shared interest in sports, rap music, and the O Patio. Peter is always the first to buy his friends, or local celebs, a shot. In fact, he has bought a shot for a who’s who list of people in Columbus including Terrell Prior, Mike “the Situation” Sorrentino, and Frat Kyle. After his shot-buying college days, Peter decided to pursue medicine and is now a doctor and second year Anesthesiology resident.

Sarah and Veronica met in freshmen year of high school. Sarah, a graceful runner often comforted the very clumsy, very unprepared Veronica as she quickly found out long-distance running was not for her. They kept in touch through college but truly reconnected after college when both needed roommates. Surprise! They got roommates and best friends from the deal. Sarah is also one of Sarah’s most trusted dance partners. Once Sarah and Veronica actually danced the equivalent to 3 miles, the dance floor was never the same!

Brad and Newkold also met during their time at Ohio State and the fraternity. They were neighbors for two years on the 3rd floor of the fraternity house, where Alex’s door was always open for Brad. Newkold is newly married and some say their happy marriage is owed all to Brad, who introduced Newkold to his wife, Amy, in college. Newkold is a die hard Cleveland sports fan after&nbsp;living there for several years after college. He recently told Brad he likes the Cleveland Browns more than The Ohio State University Buckeyes, blasphemy!!&nbsp;

Nicole is your there-in-a-minute, no-questions-asked kind of friend.&nbsp;

Nikki Hess came into Veronica’s life in freshmen year of college when they were both on the NKU girls golf team. Nicole has been a steady stream of support and judgement-free friendship ever since and she is always down for anything! Nicole’s laughter is contagious, you haven’t lived until you’ve heard it. Nikki has always been there though the  good and the bad. Once when Veronica became ill unexpectedly, Nicole swooped in to care for her dog, George, no questions asked. She’s just that kind of friend.

Jessica is Brad’s older sister and is a middle school teacher in sunny Orlando, Florida. Growing up, Brad made it a sport to annoy Jessica in as many ways as possible. One of his favorites was to punch her hair bun (very mature). Even through all those annoyances, she was willing to drive Brad to school and to the golf course before he had his driver’s license. They also share a love for all things Harry Potter. Jessica’s obsession might run a little deeper as she’s read each book several times!

James (The Mean Green Vegan Machine) is Veronica’s younger brother. Just like Brad and Jessica, these two couldn’t be more different! While Veronica enjoyed any and all outdoor activities, James strictly preferred hobbies that involved air conditioning. It seems the only thing James and Veronica have in common is that they are both picky eaters. When Veronica finally discovered how amazing pistachios were, she tried to convince James of this fact (basically forcing him to try them). Fun fact, this is how we found out that James is very allergic to tree nuts!

Natalie and Veronica met in grad school at Xavier and connected quickly! Natalie’s middle name should be FUN. Natalie is a strong and empowering friend. She can pick you up like no one else. She made grad school a lot more tolerable and somehow enjoyable. She also contoured my face before a date with Brad so it's very fitting that she'll be on make-up duty on 4/13/19 :)

&nbsp;Kristi is Veronica’s cousin-in-law, wife to Kyle. From day one Veronica and Kristi clicked. Our whole family got lucky with Kristi. She is kind, supportive and easy-going. Kristi is always ready for some fun! Some might call us "woo girls". :)

Grandma’s favorite grandchild 😉&nbsp;Kyle is Veronica’s cousin&hellip; Why have a stranger marry you when your cousin can!? If Kyle were writing this, it would turn out 100 times funnier- he is a comedian hiding in the cubicles of Corporate America. In addition to Kyle’s humor, he is incredibly thoughtful and empathetic.

This is a brand new hotel right down the street (.7 miles) from New Riff. Rooms run $144/night and parking costs $10/night. The Southbank Shuttle Trolley runs every 15 minutes and will drop you off at the venue if you don't want to park your car&nbsp;at New Riff. The trolley only costs $1.&nbsp;

This is also where we will meet up after the wedding for drinks at their bar and outdoor patio, weather permitting.
