After running into each other in the medical student centre gym and VGH emergency room, Tae asks Victoria out on their first date at Sing Sing. Victoria asks around about him at the hospital, everyone tells her Tae is the funniest guy! Meanwhile, Tae senses something special about Victoria.

After just 3 dates, Victoria starts her 4th year of medical school and needs to go to Williams Lake in Northern BC for a few weeks. Tae FaceTimes her for moral support, meanwhile Victoria helps Tae pick out furniture for his new apartment. This is the moment Tae recognizes Victoria's impressive aptitudes as an interior designer.

Victoria, Tae and Tae's earring go to New York to attend a wedding. They've been dating for just 5 months and Tae makes sure to meet Victoria's parents beforehand to make a good impression before taking her out of the country. Victoria also meets Tae's parents for the first time and makes them mulled wine out of chai teabags.

After almost of a year of electives, writing personal letters and interviews, Victoria nervously awaits her residency application match results to see if she has to move away. As luck would have it, the long hours are all worth it. At 9am on Match Day she FaceTimes Tae at work and tells him she's matched to UBC Internal Medicine and gets to stay here in Vancouver! They promptly plan to move in together...

To celebrate Victoria's residency match and graduation, Victoria and Tae take their first trip outside of North America to Paris, the French Riviera and Monaco. It becomes another one of their favourite places and they cannot wait to come back (hopefully for the Monaco Grand Prix at some point!).

Victoria and Tae move in together in their Yaletown apartment. They live on the waterfront now and so Victoria teaches Tae how to paddle board. He falls into the water right after this photo was taken.

After months of renovations, Victoria and Tae make their apartment into their dream home in time for their first Christmas living together. Victoria puts up the tree...Tae helps a little. Tae learns how to wrap gifts in a presentable manner and they host all their loved ones for the holidays.

Tae starts his interview tour for his urologic oncology fellowship. Victoria says she'll tag along to see the sights during his Stanford interview and very casually mentions a local jeweller in the Bay Area whose engagement ring designs she loves... Tae eats an In-and-Out burger to fuel up for their first ring shopping appointment. 6 months (and many jeweller appointments) later, Tae decides to purchase a ring from this very first San Fransisco jeweller.

Tae proposes to Victoria while snowshoeing with both their families on Cypress Mountain. Tae's parents and aunt and uncle are also visiting Vancouver for the holidays from Toronto and Seoul, and Tae is able to get both sides of the family to join the at the proposal. As a bonus surprise, Tae asks a few of Victoria's best friends to be there as well. Tae and Victoria feel so grateful that their loved ones were willing to trek up the rainy mountain for this and will forever remember this moment.

Tae and Victoria travel to Japan and Korea for spring break. Victoria having never been to either of these countries is understandably keen to try all the delicacies each country has to offer including this Korean corndog studded with potatoes (yum!). Along the way, Tae and Victoria enjoy vintage shopping, taking advantage of flash sales at Olive Young, eating salty buns at aesthetic cafes, and biking along the white sandy beaches of Jeju Island (on a tandem bike!). The trip is also special as Victoria gets to meet Tae's relatives and childhood friends in Korea.

It is Tae's graduation day from urology residency. Without Victoria's patience, support, and sacrifice, Tae knows the residency would have been far more arduous. Tae is grateful Victoria can accompany him in celebrating this milestone together.

It's a bittersweet day. Tae and Victoria spend a weekend filled with fun, friends and urology at Tae's conference in Victoria, BC. Then they say goodbye for now as Tae moves to Houston for the next two years for urologic oncology fellowship at MD Anderson and Victoria prepares to board her flight to Toronto for a month long elective in preparation for her own fellowship applications. Now for the adventure of planning a wedding long distance!
