On a beautiful Sunday morning in Toronto, Tae, Victoria and Tae's parents ventured out to take some bonus engagement photos and watch the sunrise together. Tae's mother Nanju captured the following beautiful images on both a film camera and her smartphone, which were then edited by Victoria.

Wedding Party

YVR is the most convenient airport to fly into, YXX has cheaper flights but there is no public transport and it is very far from downtown Vancouver. At YVR take the Canada Line directly into the city. There is only one line available and one direction/one platform. No need to buy tickets in advance as long as you have a tap form of payment. Tap your credit card or ApplePay directly at the gate. Otherwise ticket vending machines are at the station. Free transfers within 90 min, just use the same method of tap payment to tap in and out. There are 3 stations in downtown Vancouver: Yaletown Roundhouse, Vancouver City Centre and Waterfront, depending on where you are staying.

Getting To and From YVR

There is limited parking at the venue lot and street parking in the surrounding area. Otherwise, Hycroft Manor is a 10 minute Uber ride from downtown. For those taking public transport, the #10 bus stops near the venue, get off at Granville st and W 15th ave.

Getting to Hycroft Manor

There is Uber and Lyft in Vancouver along with conventional taxi's. Otherwise skytrains are the most reliable form of transit and the Canada Line should get you most of the places you'd want to go. Buses have fairly regular service and will bring you further west to places like West 4th st. and UBC, or to Granville St. south of the bridge which has great shops and restaurants as well.

Public Transport, Taxi and Rideshare

False Creek Ferries and Aquabus are two different companies operating small ferry boats in the False Creek region. They are similarly priced, with tickets between $4-12 each way depending on how far you are going. The stops span Olympic Village to Kits beach (only on False Creek Ferries, get off at Maritime Museum station) with stops in Yaletown and Granville Island in between. A fun experience and short little boat ride. You can buy tickets after getting on board with credit card or cash.

Our favourite sushi place, casual vibe and great for takeout or dine in in the heart of Gastown. Try their Momo Box A or any of their special rolls! Ordering in store here gets better prices than off Door Dash/Uber Eats.

Momo Sushi

The absolute best fancy Thai food with a Bib Gourmand award to boot. Try the crab fried rice, pad thai with pork jowl and mango sticky rice. Very big portions for main courses.

Tae's favourite Korean Fusion. Casual, fun atmosphere with a great seafood pancake.

Zoomak Korean Tavern

Beautifully presented and unique Japanese food. Elegant restaurant with prices that are reasonable all things considered. One of our favourites.

Tozen Sushi Bar

The place where Tae and I had our very first date. Indoor outdoor space, fun drinks and great asian fusion food!

Sing Sing Main St

Get great dim sum while staying within Vancouver. Other great options exist but most are in Richmond, a 20min skytrain ride away.

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant

Cafe's and Bars

Amazing little cafe, great drinks, scones and super cute interior. Has comfortable seats, plugs and wifi too! A 3min walk from Victoria's apartment in Yaletown.

Analog Coffee

Shopping on West 4th street is great, with lots of popular shops as well as boutiques. Check out Old Faithful Shop for beautiful and interesting homeware. Lumine Coffee is our favourite coffee shop in that area. Great drinks and cute seating area in the back.

For a fancy night out, Botanist has some of the best cocktails.

For equally great drinks and a funkier vibe, Keefer street bar is our go-to! Make sure to book ahead.

Recommendation courtesy of Shion, Victoria's oldest and most hip friend. Live jazz meets winery and patio, they produce and sell their own wines by the glass (or bottle) and it's absolutely amazing. Grab a glass and enjoy the music.

Note we love wandering various shopping districts and exploring different neighbourhoods so most of our recommendations centre around this. For recommendations of specific tourist activities please reach out directly!

Please note Vancouver is a very safe area but please do not go east of Gastown and avoid the East Hastings area. When walking from Yaletown to the downtown core, take Homer St or Richard St rather than Granville St for a more scenic route; Granville St is nicer north of Robson St.

Our favourite park, right by the water and right by our apartment. Beautiful walkway along false creek, tennis courts (bring your own racket and balls), basketball etc.

David Lam Park

Waterfront coal harbour area surrounding the convention centre is beautiful with views of the sea planes taking off and little cafe's and ice cream shops.

Vancouver Convention Centre

Robson Street shopping area is lively and a fun walk to take! Popular shops with additional high end stores on the nearby crossroads/parallel streets. Lots of places to eat, asian dessert shops etc.

Robson Street Business Association

A popular tourist spot, very artsy with a food market, fun shops, cafe's. Check out the broom shop with all kinds of handmade artisanal brooms! Accessible via the seawall which connects Granville Island to Yaletown to English Bay Beach. We suggest taking a bike ride between these three locations if you have a few hours to spare.

Granville Island Public Market

Gastown has a ton of great shops, cafe's and galleries. Be careful further east of Abbott street, although there are some great vintage stores in that area (check out From Another). Avoid going further east than Main Street by foot.

Gastown Steam Clock

If you have a few hours to kill and are near Waterfront Station anyways, hop on the sea bus across to North Vancouver. It will drop you off after a very quick 10min ride to Lonsdale Quay. This place has a food market and quaint boardwalk area, similar to Granville Island but slightly less artsy. Tons to explore and very convenient to get to and from downtown.

Your presence is gift enough, but for those who wish to contribute, our preference is for cash gifts that we can put towards our down payment, medical school loans and honeymoon. We do not have a gift registry for physical gifts as we currently live in separate, very small temporary spaces with no storage, plus we have everything we could possibly need from our first apartment!
