Do I have a plus one?

The names included on your invitation are the names that are invited to the wedding. We would absolutely love to have everyone attend, however because this wedding is located within our First Nation's community, as well as weddings being expensive, we wanted to keep the numbers as small as possible as we're still living in a pandemic <3 Thank you for understanding. Of course, there are unique situations that may arise and we are more than open to accommodate if possible.

Where is Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg?

Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg is an Algonquin community 1.5 hours north of Ottawa, ON. The traditional territory of the Omamiwinini Anishinabeg (Algonquin) is vast, unsurrendered, and unceded which includes Ottawa/Gatineau region, the Ottawa Valley, and adjacent lands. There are currently 10 recognized Algonquin communities (9 in so-called Quebec, and 1 in so-called Ontario): Kitigan Zibi Algonquins of Barriere Lake Kitcisakik Lac Simon Abitibiwinini Long Point (where Victoria's mom is from) Timiskaming (where Victoria's grandfather is from) Kebaowek Wolf Lake Algonquins of Pikwakanagan (the only legit Algonquin community in Ontario)

What should I expect on the wedding day?

Guest arrival on September 3rd between 2:00-2:30 PM with the ceremony beginning at 3:00 PM. Cocktail hour and appetizers for guests after the ceremony. Buffet style dinner with speeches, dancing, and cake cutting. Party and late night snack into the night!

Where can I stay before and after the wedding?

There are two hotels in the town of Maniwaki, which is adjacent to Kitigan Zibi (both are listed under the travel tab on the website). There are also Airbnb's available in the general area if you have a larger group. If you don't mind traveling the morning of the wedding or after the reception, it is possible to book in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, although it is approximately 1.5 hours from the wedding venue.

What should I wear?

It is a black tie, formal attire event. The venue requires a short walk down a gravel driveway and the majority of the day/night will take place on grass so high heels such as stilettos are not recommended.

Where is the ceremony?

We're having trouble adding the location onto the main page. The address to the wedding venue is 173-B Pitobig Mikan Maniwaki, QC.
