It may or may not have taken us an embarrassingly long time to realize that the pig statues littering the area pay homage to Smithfield ham. So if eating pig is your thing - be sure to go hog-wild and get a slice in the Ham Capitol of the World (we won't be serving it at the wedding).

The most populous city in the state, if you want to hit the best beaches in Virginia and don't mind battling the crowd, come to VB! With an epic board walk, a popin' Town Center, and so many great places to eat, you can't go wrong. (1 hr from Smithfield)
If your looking to take the party across state lines and see what all those OBX bumper stickers are really about, take the drive to North Carolina's Outer Banks and experience the best beaches on the east coast. (2 and a 30 minutes from Smithfield)
