We are beyond thrilled to be celebrating with our friends and family in such a special place. San Miguel is magical and also happens to be Victoria's birthplace and hometown. When we were deciding where to have our wedding, there really was no other option. Victoria has many fond memories growing up here and Craig has also fallen in love with the town on his visits. We encourage a Thursday - Sunday/Monday long weekend (Oct 9th -12/13th). This allows some time free of pre-planned wedding activities to explore and fall in love with San Miguel too!

Our Wedding

There are 3 potential airports to fly into. Be sure explore all options (I recommend google flights) as prices and options can significantly vary between these three. #1: Queretaro (QRO) is the easiest/closest airport to fly into but will also likely be the most expensive. It is about 1 hr 25 min from San Miguel. #2: Leon (BJX) is the second closest airport. 1 hr 45 min from San Miguel. Guanajuato city is nearby and worth exploring if you've got extra time. #3: Mexico City (MEX) is the furthest from San Miguel but has direct flights from most major US airports (and likely the cheapest option). The best way to get to San Miguel from here is by bus or car service. There is a bus station directly in the airport and buses to Queretaro run every hour (these buses are really nice and comfortable). This is around a 4 hour drive. The car service mentioned in "airport to San Miguel" section (Julio's trasnport) also offers rides to/from Mexico City. This airport option is best if you plan to spend an extra day or two here as traffic can be unpredictable. Mexico City is one of Victoria’s favorite cities and well worth the visit! Please please don't hesitate to reach out with questions about travel/flight options as you begin to book.

Airport to San Miguel

You can find information for booking your transport below. We have collected flight info on your RSVP so that we can share a list of flights so that you can coordinate shared transport. If you want to share a ride hang tight and we'll let you know if anyone else is on your flight in or out of San Miguel a couple weeks before the wedding. 1) Julios transport- you can reach out at juliotourss@gmail.com to request a booking, mention it is for Victoria &amp; Craig Wedding. Pricing (both QRO and BJX): $120 USD for 2 people, $175 USD for 5 people, $185 USD for 8 people, $200 for 10 people, $440 for 20 people. 2) Book online at <a href="https://www.bajiogo.com/en/airport-shuttles" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">BAJIOGO</a>- they offer shared or private shuttles to/from the airport and are commonly used by visitors to San Miguel

Hotels

We have selected a handful of hotels that are within a 10 minute walk from both the welcome party and the wedding venue. We have stayed at all of these hotels and have provided a variety of price points. There are TONS of other amazing hotels and air BNB's in San Miguel so feel free to explore other options as well. We recommend staying within the green outlined perimeter above though for ease of transportation. Please keep in mind if you click on the websites, it may default to pesos for the cost! Make sure you change currency to USD to see cost in dollars.

Hacienda El Santuario San Miguel de Allende

This hotel is about a 6 minute walk to the wedding day venue and 10 minute walk to our welcome party venue. It has a large modern lobby and a central court yard with a pool. We have secured a block rate of $3049 pesos per night (approximately $150 depending on exchange rate at time of payment). To book this rate you can either call the number above or send an email to reservaciones1@grupomexicoreal.com, be sure to mention the hotel name and code above.

Hotel Real de Minas

If value and distance are most important to you, this hotel is right across the street from the venue and has the best rate. It is, however, the oldest hotel and least modernized of the three. We have secured a block rate of $2184 pesos per night (approximately $110 USD depending on exchange rate at time of payment). To book at this rate, you will need to call the hotel and mention you are booking for the Craig Dixon/Victoria Zarate wedding (block # 43957) along with your stay dates. They will then give you next steps for booking. They have instructed for you to call after 4pm CST in order to speak to their English speaking reservations manager.

Transportation in San Miguel

There's no need to worry about renting a car once you're in town. San Miguel de Allende is a walkable destination, everything is easily accessible on foot. Uber and taxis are also readily available for excursions on the outskirts of town.

San Miguel De Allende is a beautiful place to explore. It is a small, colonial era town known for it's stunning architecture, history, cobblestone streets, global food scene, and it's many rooftops. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage City in 2008 and has won the "world's best city" awards multiple times. V met Arielle their sophomore year of college at JMU while they were rushing the co-ed business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi.  Their friendship quickly blossomed and they became roommates for their senior year which solidified this now 13 year friendship that is still going strong

Craig has had Jeff by his side his whole life (Jeff was born about 2 minutes before him, so he's literally known Jeff since the beginning). Whether they're near or far and during whatever life stage, they've always been each other's best friend.

Nick is Craig's younger brother and lives outside New York City. Their meet-ups usually, although not always, time up to watch their favorite NY sports teams together - whether in NY, DC, or somewhere else altogether.

The friend of a friend's brother...they met at a party in 2016 and immediately hit it off.  Tied at the hip through many trips, James was V's  trusty travel companion before Craig came along.

Chris is Craig's older brother and lives in California. Craig has always looked up to Chris. Chris also taught Craig to appreciate good music - when Craig was younger Chris horrified by the songs on his computer and set him on a better path.

Like Arielle, V also met Megan while rushing DSP.  The three of them were quickly inseparable.  The tripod is they call themselves is still going strong and celebrated through a yearly girls trip.
