Things to Do
Since Liz's aunt & uncle have a lake house near Saugatuck, over the years, Liz & Vinnie have completely fallen in love with the small quaint towns of Fennville, Holland, Douglas, & Saugatuck Michigan. If you're looking to be by the water, head to Saugatuck.
With that being said, September is still a busy month for the town. Depending on capacity that weekend, parking might be tough. We recommend parking a few blocks up from the downtown area near Saugatuck High School if spots are limited!

Our Recs
The Butler
Waterfront restaurant & rooftop in the heart of downtown Saugatuck with the most beautiful views of the water (& sunset during golden hour). They don't take reservations but you can pass the time at the bar if waiting for a table!
The BARge
Another cute waterfront restaurant & bar right in downtown Saugatuck with good food & great views!
Retro Boat Rentals & The Old Boathouse
If you're looking to literally be on the water while in town, a rental from Retro Boat is a must! They have awesome retro boats, donut boats, pontoon boats, & more!
Their boat house serves food & drinks right on their deck as well.
Kilwin's Chocolates
I mean, did you even go to a lake town in Michigan if you didn't get Kilwin's ice cream or fudge?!
New Holland Brewing - Holland Brewpub
A staple brewery right in downtown Holland with a tasting room in Saugatuck! Great beers & food!
Wicks Park Bar & Grille
Another great spot for food & drinks. There's also live music outside every Friday & Saturday, which makes this a fan favorite in Saugatuck!
The Grilled Cheese Shack
A cute little hut in the heart of downtown full of grilled cheese, cheese sandwiches & more!

Virtue Cider
I never visit Saugatuck without stopping at Virtue! Located in Fennville about 15 minutes from Saugatuck & 20 minutes from Holland, the beautiful aesthetic, greenhouses, trails, & animals make this place so unique! Plus, their ciders & froze are just too good.
I would recommend making reservations as it gets very busy, but there is space for walk-ins!
Modales Wines
If you're stopping at Virtue, head next door to Modales winery! I love this indoor / outdoor winery with plenty of areas to enjoy a variety of Michigan wines!
Pennyroyal Cafe & Provisions
The cutest little coffee shop with DELICIOUS food. If the weather is nice, opt to sit outside in the beautiful gardens. One of my fav spots (& right next to our venue!)
Isabel's Market + Eatery
A super cute local market + eatery with live music all summer long on Thursdays from 4-6 PM. Just a few minutes from our venue!
Spring Sweet
If you're staying in downtown Holland, this cute little boutique is my favorite! Plus, they have a flower shop inside with fresh flowers daily!

Right down the street from our venue, enjoy a variety of Michigan beers & food right in Saugatuck / Douglas!

Right across from the water in downtown Saugatuck, The Mitten is an indoor / outdoor brewery with picnic tables & firepit seating!
