We chose Cancun for several reasons. The first one, because we LOVE Cancun. We love the weather, the food, the fun atmosphere and the beach. Cancun is also a central location for both families to meet, from Puerto Rico and from Morelia, and for all of our wonderful friends from US. We also chose Monday as the wedding will be mother's day weekend in Mex and in US. We are excited to spend the weekend with our moms as we haven't done so in +20 years!! Also, to provide you options of traveling on days with less airport traffic and with more affordable prices for everyone. ***Seleccionamos Cancun por varias razones. La primera, nos encanta Cancun. También seleccionamos el lunes, ya que nos brinda la oportunidad de celebrar el dia de las madres durante el fin de semana con nuestras mamás, ya que no lo hemos podido hacer en mas de 20 años. La fecha tambien provee opciones para viajar en dias de menos tráfico en los aeropuertos y precios accesibles para ustedes.

There are many great places to visit at affordable prices. The Hotel Zone has many little shops to buy souvenirs, there are also larger shops with name-brand stores. La Isla is a beautiful shopping center. In the Hotel Zone, you will find many restaurants and bars, with a vibrant atmosphere for the young at heart. You can also take a taxi or public transportation to go to the local market (Mercado 28) which is similar to a flea market where you may find local Mexican handcrafts and souvenirs. Visit the "Things to do" section for more information about excursions you can do, and many includes transportation from the hotel. ***Hay mucho para hacer en Cancun. There is public transportation all over the Hotel Zone to the market downtown. It's around $1.00 US. You can also take a taxi to go places. Of note, taxis may be cheaper if you walk a block away from a specific location (eg. restaurant). Walk a block away, raise your arm and call it!. There is also Uber, but we have not used it during our visits so can't comment about it.

No. We suggest you only drink bottled water to be on the safe side. And to be extra safe, also use bottled water to brush your teeth. Restaurants are required to use filtered ice when serving drinks so no need to worry about ice!
