The two met and there was an immediate spark, a recognition of "kindred".

As Fate would have it, their circles overlapped, and they discovered more and more similarities in how they cared for others. They bonded over keeping the peace, campsite clean-up, and shared meals.

As both experienced heartbreaks, they understood the inner work and journey they both needed to undertake. Through time, support, and friendship the spark grew into a warm and safe space to just 'be'.

Out in nature on a gorgeous hike something changed. The sunshine, the outdoors, and fresh air inspired a deep and thoughtful conversation about life and goals. More than the normal bonding, this conversation was a declaration of intent for themselves. Stating what they each wanted for their individual hearts created a resonance that was deeper than friendship. It was a hike that changed everything.

A fantastic meal, laughter, revelations, and a strong sense that something had definitely changed. They hadn't set out for it to be a date, but there were butterflies and blushing that hadn't been there before.

After deciding to continue the conversation, they took a walk around the neighborhood. Wendy offered Taunja her coat, and Taunja reached out to take Wendy's hand.

They walked and talked, though neither can remember what they spoke about. When it was finally time to say goodnight, they had the moment.

Wendy tucked Taunja's hair behind her ear, and then... the first kiss.

It was an evolution from friendship into love. Spending time with friends and family was important to ensure they were a good fit. Blessings were given, and the blending of lives began.

In a whirlwind of change, they sold two homes and bought a new place. Keeping the kiddo's families close, they began the journey of building a big, beautiful, blended family.

They had both made declarations of never again, but the Universe often has other plans. And as naturally as each step before had come, they knew they wanted to celebrate their partnership more formally.

An amazing friend, Emily, helped Wendy find the perfect ring, with a little guidance from Taunja. And with some planning, a letter, flowers, and champagne, Wendy got down on one knee and asked Taunja to be her wife. She said 'Yes'!
