To do so- click on the RSVP tab on our homepage. Then, enter your name and your invitation will show up and allow you to RSVP and choose an entree for dinner.

Our venue requires a head count by September 6th, 2025-

Any RSVPs received after this date, or not at all, will be automatically marked as declined.

Dress Code: Formal


Men should wear a suit and tie but a tuxedo is acceptable if preferred. Women's dresses should be floor length, tea length, or midi length- formal pantsuits are also acceptable. Anything above the knee is not considered formal attire. Within the formal dress code there is more flexibility with fabrics, colors and patterns so feel free to have fun with it, but when in doubt, opt for a darker color!


A formal dress code is considered more versatile than Black Tie while still offering the same degree of elegance and formality. We are hoping this allows everyone to have the flexibility needed to wear what they feel best in while still honoring the atmosphere of the venue.

Please no jeans or casual wear.





*Keep in mind: it will be the end of October. Plan for a slight chill!
-Ceremony will be held on the Umstead lawn
-Cocktail hour will be held mostly on an outdoor balcony with an additional indoor space
-Reception will be indoors with the balcony accessible throughout the night

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm.

Please make sure you arrive 15-30 minutes early to ensure you have enough time to park, grab a welcome drink, mingle and find your seat- the venue will close off entry to the ceremony space after 5:30pm!

We unfortunately cannot accommodate a plus one for everyone. We tried our best to include as many people as possible. If your invite includes “& Guest” then you are welcome to bring a plus one!

We have tried our best to accommodate as many people as we can but our venue can only hold so many people! If your children have been invited to the wedding, their names will be listed on your invitation.

If we were unable to include your children, we hope you understand and see this as an opportunity to take the night off and enjoy the party with us!

The Umstead Hotel has plenty of self parking available as well as complimentary valet set up for our wedding guests.

*We also greatly encourage ride sharing, taxi/uber services, and utilizing designated drivers to ensure guest safety.

October weather in North Carolina will likely be warm during the day and cooler at night. Bringing a light jacket or sweater is highly recommended.

This will be a phone-free ceremony!

We are paying a professional photographer to take care of that part, so everyone is free to be present with us during this momentous occasion! Please silence your phones and do not have them out during the ceremony.
