Please check your passports. The EU requires that Americans traveling into Italy have passports that are valid through August 2024 for travel in May 2024 and have at least 2 blank pages to enter the country. Starting in 2024, all Americans will be required to complete ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) to enter the European Union. This should be completed online and at least 5 days prior to departure. Bellagio is one of the several small towns along the shores of Lake Como. The nearest international airport is Milano Malpensa. The fastest way is to hire a private car from the airport or Milan. The more affordable and scenic way is to take a train to Como and then a ferry from Como to Bellagio. Tickets are available at most times of day and can be booked online in advance. We strongly recommend planning on staying in Bellagio the evening of the wedding, as taxi/Uber transportation out of the city is limited in the evenings.

There are several other small towns including Como, Varenna, Lecco, and Mennagio, which are all accessible by ferry, train, and other public transportation.

It depends! If you are planning on a 5-7 day trip, consider including a few days in Milan, Venice, or Bologna. If you have more time, consider adding time in Florence or Rome.
