Xavier and Bree are the people who they are today because of the friends they have surrounded themselves with. Their formative journeys through good times, bad times, and the best times with these people mean that they couldn't have this incredible day without their friends by their side. Meet the bridal party below!
Maddie Scheidler - Maid of Honor
Maddie and I have been friends since one day in middle school when she asked me to go to the Washington County fair. Since that day, we have been inseparable. We practically lived at each other's houses growing up, and even living across the country from each other now, our friendship has never wavered. X described us as Elphaba and Glinda... you can speculate who's who. I couldn't ask for a better ride-or-die, and I'm thankful to have her!
Ethan Nelson - Best Man
Nels and I became friends through the USAFA frisbee team. We started backpacking together in Canyonlands (where everything went wrong), and somehow I still convinced him to take more camping trips with me. From Hatchcover to Vail and Haps to North Carolina, our times together are always an adventure and a party. Nels is an amazing person and an even better friend, I wouldn't start this next step of my journey through life without him.
Sammi Heiser - Bridesmaid
Sammi and I met in elementary school when were in Girl Scouts together. As the years evolved, so did our friendship, including getting through our weird kid phase together (it wasn't pretty). From marching band to school to randomly going downtown together, we made so many memories, and I can't wait to have her be a part of this one too!
Thomas Bartholf - Groomsman
Tom and I ended up as roommates coming out of Basic Training, and it was one of the best things that I've ever stumbled into. Tom is so loyal and passionate, and I've always been able to trust that he's by my side and ready to squeeze the enjoyment out of life. A guy with this much fire in his heart is a must have at your wedding.
Dej Bukovac - Bridesmaid
Dej and I first crossed paths at a meetup for a faith group right before Basic Training. I never would have guessed that life would keep bringing us back together, including putting us in a canyon starving together for training. She has always been someone that I can rely on. and I can't imagine celebrating without her!
Ethan Marley - Groomsman
I got the privilege of staring across the hallway during Basic Training at Basic Marley. That's a face I'll never forget. Marley is always capable of convincing me to face each day in wildly uncomfortable means (especially Mondays). He's sweet and slow like honey, bringing a splash of Southern hospitality to an incredible milestone.
Maddie Dibble - Bridesmaid
Dibs and I were lab partners in Physics 110 freshman year (neither of us were very good, I did get a D). With an insane amount of luck, we got shuffled into the same squadron at USAFA and immediately bonded over our love for books. Since then, we have only discovered more similarities, and I'm so excited to have her as a bridesmaid!
Michael Walsh - Groomsman
Michael Walsh might be my oldest friend. We were neighbors growing up, and no one takes torture quite like Michael Walsh. Loyal, caring, and full of intellectual curiosity, Michael Walsh never fails to bring up an engaging conversation and keep every moment interesting. Watch out for this slick bachelor on the wedding day.
Ashlie Van Cleave - Bridesmaid
Ashlie and I were shuffled into the same squadron following freshman year. One day early junior year something compelled us to sit and talk about our lives. We realized how similar we are, and a beautiful friendship blossomed. She often convinces me to go to country concerts with her, and I'm so thankful I convinced her to be a bridesmaid!
Ryan Messer - Groomsman
Ryan and I both had the privilege of being Radical Jedi Knights at USAFA. Life at the academy threw its punches, and Ryan and I could rely on each other to share in commiseration. He knows how to get a group of guys out on the town and was a fire roommate as we stepped into true adulthood. Here's to having him with me for this next step of growing up.
Edie Ferguson - Bridesmaid
Edie and I became friends in the spring of junior year when we were forced to fight in combatives class. Even though our friendship is newer, we have grown incredibly close. We love going camping and on various adventures together, and I can't wait for her to be a part of this adventure with me!
Mark Vighetti - Groomsman
If I needed anyone to navigate the US highway system using road signs alone, it would be Mark Vighetti. He doesn't need a map, he's a trailblazer in everything he does. Mark and I were partners in... everything we did in high school. So proud of what fine young men we turned out to be, couldn't have a day this special without him.
KATHERINE RUFFING - Bridesmaid
Kat and I were one of each other's first friends at USAFA. We sat next to each other in German freshman year (and the years following) and were ironically shuffled into the same squadron. Kat and I make even the most mundane tasks fun, and I am excited to have her as a bridesmaid!
DJ Lucidore - Groomsman
DJ is one of those people that can make any event into something you'll never forget. We spent so much time together in high school, between marching band, scouts, and frisbee, there was always mischief to be had. I'm pretty sure he'll be behaved at the wedding, but no promises.
