Our Wedding

Xiomara and Jon met online on a dating app in January 2023. At the time Xiomara was living in San Marcos, TX and Jon was in San Antonio, TX. The two began messaging one another and very quickly it turned into phone calls and video calls every night. Xiomara finally asked Jon if they could meet in person. Jon enthusiastically said yes and the two agreed to meet on what we thought was a random Tuesday. Xiomara quickly realized that the Tuesday the two were going to meet on was Valentine’s Day. Xiomara quickly asked Jon if he wanted to switch the date and Jon insisted, and the two had their first date on February 14, 2023, at Umiya Sushi in San Antonio. Jon and Xiomara both share a love for sushi, so this was a perfect place for them to eat and enjoy the evening. The date flew by and the two instantly had a connection. Both Xiomara and Jon did not want the night to end, but Xiomara lived about an hour away from San Antonio, and she had to get back to her apartment. The distance made the heart grow fonder. As the rest of the week went on, Xiomara and Jon would talk for endless hours on the phone before they went to bed. The two could not get enough of how the date had gone and they had planned to meet up for the weekend, but no plans were in place. On February 17, 2023, Xiomara received a call from Jon asking if she would like to join him and his family for some Texas BBQ. Xiomara smiled from ear to ear and knew that she wanted to see Jon again. She eagerly said yes and made her way down to San Antonio to see Jon and meet some of his family. Ironically, Jon got to meet Xiomara’s best friend Heather and her partner, Daniel, because the two had ended up at the same restaurant (Blanco’s BBQ). Xiomara knew that there was something special about Jon when he willingly wanted to meet Heather and Daniel. As they wrapped up dinner, Xiomara and Jon were trying to figure out what the plans were going to be for the rest of the evening. Jon suggested that the two go to the movies and watch Avatar: The Way of Water. The two did not want the night to end. It was around 12am when the movie ended, and Xiomara and Jon made plans to hang out for the whole weekend. Xiomara began coming down every weekend (and sometimes during the week) to see Jon and this sparked their romance. On February 22, 2023, Xiomara texted her friend Edward and told him that she was going to “marry this man”. Xiomara knew very early on that she had a strong connection to Jon.&nbsp;

On April 1, 2023, Jon asked Xiomara to be his girlfriend. In May 2023, the two had their first vacation together to Montego Bay, Jamacia. The two had such an amazing time and it was truly a fairytale experience. This is a trip that Jon and Xiomara talk about quite often and hope that they can return to the beautiful island soon.&nbsp;

In October 2023, Xiomara and Jon went to Wisconsin so Jon could meet Xiomara’s family, but Xiomara knew that her family was going to love Jon just as much as she did. Jon made a beautiful connection with her family and got to see where Xiomara grew up. This was the moment Xiomara knew she wanted to be closer to Jon and move down to San Antonio! Xiomara knew that she had found her match! Xiomara and Jon talked about it, and the two decided it was time for Xiomara to leave her housing job and find something new in San Antonio. By the end of October, Xiomara had moved down to San Antonio and lived with Jon’s cousin for a bit so Xiomara could get settled. In February 2024, Xiomara and Jon celebrated 1 year of meeting and the two took a trip to California to see where Jon grew up and to meet some of his family as well. Xiomara had been to California before, but now she got to see all the hidden beauties that Los Angeles had to offer.&nbsp; Xiomara and Jon did some more traveling during the year and some small trips here and there as this is something the couple love to do. The two love to go to new places and try new things. In July 2024, Xiomara and Jon found their way back to Wisconsin and at this time, Jon had asked Xiomara’s dad if he could marry her. Xiomara did not have any idea that Jon was going to ask her dad at that time. Jon wanted to propose when Xiomara’s family was going to be visiting again. On October 5, 2024, Xiomara and Jon were with Xiomara’s family as they were in town. Xiomara and Jon took her family to go to The Market Square in San Antonio and little did Xiomara know that Jon had given Xiomara’s dad the ring box. Xiomara had an inclination that morning that maybe something was going to happen, but Xiomara did not see anything in Jon’s pockets, so she erased that thought from her mind. After the market, they all went to The Historic Pearl/Riverwalk. This is a place that Xiomara fell in love with back in November 2021 when she first came to visit San Antonio. Xiomara, Jon, and her family were walking on the Riverwalk when Xiomara turned around and saw Jon on one knee. Xiomara could not believe it. She was so excited that the man of dreams was asking her to marry him. Without hesitation, Xiomara said yes! This was such a special moment, because Jon knew how important it was for Xiomara to have her family there to witness the engagement.&nbsp;

On November 2, 2024, Xiomara and Jon moved into their first home together, and are eager to continue to build memories together.&nbsp;Xiomara and Jon have found their happy place in San Antonio, TX.

I am so lucky and honored to have my younger sister, Yanalise, by my side as my Maid of Honor on this special day. From the moment we were kids, she has been my partner in crime, my biggest cheerleader, and someone who always knows how to make me laugh. 
Though we’ve had our fair share of sibling disagreements, there’s no one who understands me quite like she does.
Growing up, we shared everything from childhood memories to our dreams for the future, and I’m so grateful to have her with me as I start this new chapter of my life. Yanalise has always been there for me with endless love, humor, and support. Her energy, compassion, and kindness makes her the perfect person to stand beside me on this special day.

I’m so excited to have my amazing niece, Arianna, as one of my bridesmaids on this special day. From the moment she came into my life, she has brought so much joy, laughter, and sweetness. Watching her grow into the smart, kind, and beautiful young woman she is today has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
Whether we’re sharing fun moments or just talking about life, Arianna always knows how to make things brighter. Her heart is as big as her smile and having her by my side on this important day means the world to me. I’m so proud to call her family, and I’m beyond excited to make more memories with her as we celebrate this new chapter of my life!

I’m beyond grateful to have my best friend, Iain, standing by my side as my Best Man on this incredible day. We’ve been through thick and thin together from little memories to life’s big milestones. Iain has always been there, offering unwavering support, advice, and plenty of laughs along the way.
Not only has he been my closest confidant and biggest supporter, but he’s also a constant source of inspiration. His loyalty, generosity, and sense of humor make him the perfect person to take on this important role. I couldn’t imagine my wedding without him by my side, and I’m so grateful to have him standing with me as I start this new chapter. Iain is not just my best friend; he is a brother to me.

I am excited to have one of my closest cousins as a groomsman. Bryan and I are very close, he followed in my footsteps in becoming a Respiratory Therapist. Bryan is an essential part of the wedding party. Whether cracking jokes, sharing unforgettable adventures while traveling for covid together. When he’s not standing by my side, you can find him saving lives, hunting Elk/Deer or fishing! He’s honored to be part of this special day and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!

We are incredibly honored to have Xiomara's best friend, Heather, officiate our wedding. Xiomara and Heather have been through so much together, from college adventures to navigating adulthood, and throughout it all. Heather has been a constant source of support, laughter, and light in our life.

Xiomara and Heather met in college at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater back in Fall of 2017 and ever since, Heather has become a person Xiomara trusts more than anyone else. Whether they have been celebrating successes or comforting each other during tough times, Heather has always been by Xiomara's side. Her kindness, honesty, and sense of humor are qualities that make them an amazing friend and now, an even more incredible officiant.

It’s a special feeling to have someone who knows us so well to be standing with us as we begin this next chapter of our lives. We couldn’t imagine anyone better suited to lead this ceremony and celebrate the love that brings us all here on our day!

**RSVP Reminder**

We kindly ask that all guests RSVP by October 5th. This date is very important, as we will be finalizing our headcount with the venue and vendors shortly after. If we do not receive your RSVP by then, unfortunately we won’t be able to include you in our guest count for the wedding. Thank you so much for understanding and helping us stay organized, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

When Should I Arrive?

We recommend arriving around 4:00 PM to ensure everyone is seated before the ceremony begins at 4:30 PM. Please allow extra time for traffic and travel as the wedding will be taking place on a Friday during rush hour.

Is the venue indoor or outdoor? 

The ceremony will be held in the Chapel. Cocktail hour and the reception will be indoors. There is a space for you to step outside on the deck if need be.

Can I take pictures?

We kindly ask that our ceremony be an&nbsp;unplugged celebration. This means no phones, cameras, or photo-taking during this special moment. We want our loved ones to be fully present with us as we exchange our vows, and we’ve hired a wonderful photographer to capture it all for us to share later. At the reception, please take many pictures, we would love to see the night from your POV!

What is the weather like? 

Texas weather is unpredictable. That is why we are choosing an indoor wedding. November in San Antonio generally brings mild, pleasant weather. Warm during the day and cool at night, with moderate humidity.

What should I wear?

We’re asking guests to dress in&nbsp;semi-formal attire! Think polished but relaxed. While we want everyone to look and feel their best, your comfort is most important to us! Our wedding is about joy, love, and laughter, not strict dress codes. So dress up a little, but stay true to your personal style and what makes you feel comfortable.

Is there a bar available at the venue?

A cash bar will be available for our guests to enjoy drinks throughout the evening. However for the cocktail hour (5pm-6pm), drinks will be covered! We kindly ask that no outside alcohol be brought onto the premises, as it is not permitted by our venue. When should I RSVP by and how?

Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. We ask that you RSVP by October 5th. Simply go to the RSVP tab, search for your name, and follow the prompts.

Can I bring a guest or date? 

We kindly ask that only the guests listed on your RSVP join us on our wedding day. We’re keeping our celebration intentionally intimate and appreciate your understanding as we celebrate with our closest loved ones. Thank you for respecting our wishes. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Where should we fly into?

We suggest that you fly into the San Antonio Airport, however the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is an option as well. Austin is about an hour and half away from San Antonio.

www.turo.comAs there are many rental car options at the airport and San Antonio area, we recommend looking into Turo as well! Sometimes it is cheaper to rent a car through them. It is like Airbnb for cars. If you have any questions, please let us know as we have used Turo before.

Is there a hotel block?

There are no hotel blocks. However there are many options for you to stay at it San Antonio. There are many hotels in San Antonio and some beautiful Airbnb options for you to look at. Listed below are just a few options in the downtown area. There are a lot of hotels you can choose from!
