Flying into Miami

Coconut Grove is 15-30 minutes from the Miami Airport, so we strongly recommend flying into Miami. Rent a car, hail a cab, call an Uber/Lyft, or hop on the MetroRail to come into the Grove. It's quick, easy, and cheap.

Flying into Fort Lauderdale

We do not recommend this option, but if it saves you a considerable amount of time/money or if you're able to book that nonstop flight to FLL but not MIA, then go for it! With zero traffic, it's about a 30 minute drive, but can be as long as two hours in the middle of rush hour. It is possible to get to the TriRail which will take you to the MetroRail if you're up for public transportation, but despite the significantly lower cost, we really do not recommend the public transport route due to the logistical complexity.

Getting to and from the Wedding Ceremony and Reception

There will be two private shuttle buses (each with a 50-person capacity) traveling from the hotels to the wedding ceremony, then from the ceremony to the reception, then back to the hotels afterward. While you may rent a car since there will be ample free parking at the ceremony and reception (though hotel parking may be costly), the shuttles are there for your convenience.

Getting around Coconut Grove

Download the Freebee app on a smartphone. It's legitimate, it's free, it's all over the Grove. Freebee is a free electric car "taxi" service. Each Freebee can take up to 5 passengers. Rides are free but it's customary to leave a tip for the driver.
