Once upon a time, a young woman, named Yasmin, arrived during a cold fall at the heart of a small city college. Yasmin had forgotten her jacket but met this sweet snack shop lady named Maria, who had a spare jacket and gave it to her. Yasmin was really appreciative of her but she did not know at the time Maria would years later, bring her an even greater gift that would keep her warm, safe and happy for the rest of her life!

Months went by, Maria asked Yasmin if she wanted to meet her son, but Yasmin politely declined. Many years later in a beautiful spring, Yasmin ran into a young man who was fixing lights in the garden and told him “hmmm I didn’t know there were lights there.” without laying eyes on Yasmin, the young man replied “yes, there are lights here”. This small encounter had more meaning than either of them realized at the moment.

Many more years went by… Yasmin was now a graduate and employee of the small city college and she ran into the same young man at the gym, where they both laid eyes on each other. While no words were exchanged, tension and sparks flew in the air with just this look. A few days went by, Yasmin decided to take the elevator that day and while waiting for it, the doors opened and the young man was standing there in front of her. The young man quickly made space for her and allowed Yasmin to enter the elevator. The young man introduced himself as Luis and they both struck a conversation that lasted 30 seconds.

Later that day, Yasmin found herself stunt by the young man’s first impressions and shared it with Maria’s friends at the snack shop. Maria's co-workers quickly told Yasmin who that young man was…. It was Maria’s son. Yasmin’s eyes opened wide and in disbelief she replied “no way!”.

Había una vez, una joven, llamada Yasmín llegó durante un frío otoño al centro de una pequeña universidad. Yasmín había olvidado su chaqueta, pero conoció a una señora de una cafeteria llamada María, quien tenía una chaqueta extra y se la regaló. Yasmín estaba realmente agradecida por ella, pero en ese momento no sabía que María, años más tarde, le traería un regalo aún mayor que la mantendría segura y feliz por el resto de su vida.

Pasaron los meses, María le preguntó a Yasmín si quería conocer a su hijo, pero Yasmín amablemente le dijo que no. Pasaron unos días, Yasmín decidió tomar el ascensor ese día y mientras lo esperaba, las puertas se abrieron y el joven estaba parado frente a ella.
