It all started back in 2008, when Yvette and Rafa crossed paths in high school. He thought she was cute, she thought he was cute—and just like that, a little high school fling was born. He’d walk her to class, they’d sneak notes back and forth, and shared their first kiss at the movie theater (RIP Horizon). Little did they know that they built the foundation to their future.

Life had other plans, though. After he graduated high school, the two drifted apart... until fate brought them back together almost a decade later in the summer of 2017.

Through their mutual friends (thanks, homies!), they reconnected, and this time, they fell in love.

And the rest is history. They shared many amazing memories together, like spending their 1st anniversary in Japan, vacations, hella trips to Disneyland and other cool shit. They're in crippling debt, but it's all good; they're going to file for bankruptcy after the wedding.

Fast forward to August 2024, during a weekend getaway in San Francisco. At the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts, while her autistic ass was watching the turtles in the pond, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes, and suddenly their best friends came out from hiding to surprise her and celebrate the moment. The rest of the day was spent laughing, a little bit of crying, popping champagne (and sparkling cider), eating sushi and ice cream in Japan Town, and ending the night with an adult arcade—the perfect start to forever.
