West Michigan is a wonderful place to visit. There is so much to do in the area, you can't go wrong. Hot spots to visit include Grand Rapids, and Holland. Grandville is a central location if you are staying multiple days.
Grand Rapids is the 'Big City' of West Michigan with a beautiful downtown consisting of museums, little shops, restaurants, sporting events, and many more activities. Zach and Nicole’s first date was at Stella’s, a bar known for their burgers and arcade games. If you are looking for a hole in the wall bar, Zach and Nicole frequent The Broadway Bar; it’s a tiny place you can get very strong drinks at, that is decorated with Christmas decorations year round. If you are looking for a really fancy restaurant, Zach and Nicole love to go to Butcher’s Union for their anniversary.
Holland has a wonderful downtown with fun shops along 8th street, along with a Social District (can walk around with alcoholic drinks on the sidewalk). Lots of great restaurants and bars. Zach and Nicole went to Waverly Stone Gastropub for Valentine’s Day and loved their food; if you go, definitely get the Fudge Cherry Tart for dessert. If you are a macaron fan, there is a cafe that sells them called Le Bon Macaron; Zach and Nicole love the vanilla ones the best. Big Lake Brewing is a brewery that sponsors their hockey team and Nicole's ultimate frisbee friends frequent on Wednesday nights; another great choice for beer. Holland is also your best bet if you are hoping to see Lake Michigan.
