Our Wedding

We met freshman year of college when we were introduced by two mutual friends. We hit it off and quickly realized this was it. We started dating September 25, 2016 and have made it through a lot in 7 years. After college, Zachs new job sent him to Louisiana and Texas until he left in January to join Sarah in Denver. Sarah got her cat Moo shortly after, and we moved in together almost a year later. Shortly after, our puppy Cooper joined us and we met who we call our adult friends. In August of 2022, the Newstroms spent the weekend together in the mountains before returning to Kansas on August 28th. Little did Sarah know, her family wasnt actually leaving but Zach had a plan to propose. After Zach and Sarah returned to Denver with Sarahs brother Jacob, Zach popped the question on a walk after lunch in our favorite downtown park. Sarah asked are you serious? about a hundred times before finally saying YES! When we went to dinner that night, Zach and Sarahs families were waiting for us to celebrate together. Wedding planning has been so exciting and we cant wait to share our wedding day with our friends and families! See you soon, May!

Zach and Anthony became friends in second grade when they joined the Meadowbrook Swim Team. They both went to school together in Kansas City before Anthony went to KU for college. The two share their competitive spirit and their love of what they like to call dancing. Zach and Anthony have remained close over the years and enjoy annual skiing trips and making jokes only they understand.

Anthony Caruso

Bryan and Zach also met in second grade when they shared the same teacher. They bonded over Yu-Gi-Oh cards which grew into a love of video games throughout high school. The two continue to be nerds and remain close after many years apart. They manage to see each other a couple times a year despite living over 1300 miles apart.

Zach and Andrew met when they were four years old when their moms joined a New Mom Group at church. They went through grade school together before splitting up in high school, then both decided on K-State for college, joined the same fraternity, and lived together off and on over four years. Andrew introduced Zach and Sarah their freshman year and the rest is history! Zach maintains a close friendship with Andrew still and he visits Denver often.

Andrew Hovis

Zach met Alec in 2016 during the holiday season in Kansas City. They both share interests in chess, video games, sports, history, other nerdy things, and of course Sarah ;) . With Zach and Sarah/Alec's birthdays so close together, they have spent their birthday weekend together in Denver for the last few years. Alec has been joining Zach & Sarah in Denver every Summer for a few weeks and they love to host. Alec is also Moo's favorite house guest.

Alec Newstrom

Hannah & Sarah met when Hannah's family moved to Kansas City in the house next door (dream come true!). This was in June of 2008 and they have been best friends ever since. Their friendship is based on lots of laughter, spontaneity, and of course the awkward teenage moments they lived through together. They still manage to see each other a couple times a year despite Hannah living in Seattle.

Jess and Sarah met in college while they both studied Architectural Engineering at K-State. Jess drove Sarah home after class on a rainy day and they ended up talking in the car for way too long. They lived together their final year of college and both moved to Denver after graduating to work for the same company. Jess has made many moves since then and now lives in Bozeman, MT.

Kelsie and Sarah met in the dorms during their freshman year at K-State, and ended up living together Sophomore through Senior years until Kelsie graduated. Kelsie and her twin sister Karlie moved from Kansas City to Denver in June of 2022 which thrilled Sarah to have some more close friends nearby. The trio loves exploring Denver together, having Bachelor watch parties and scary movie nights, and of course lots of cheering on the Chiefs and the Wildcats.

Sarah also met Taylor freshman year of college. Many breathers were taken and rants were spewed in Taylor's room as they also lived together through Senior year. Taylor and Sarah split up their fifth year at K-State after Taylor married and continued on to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (very proud!). Sarah and Taylor bonded over their stressful degrees and their love of Zachs, and have remained close after college. Taylor currently lives in Kansas City with her new golden retriever puppy Ellie.

Kerrigan kept Sarah's sanity in check many nights throughout college, as the two also met freshman year and lived together the following three years. Kerrigan married her husband Taylor in the Smoky Mountains in 2021, and they welcomed their sweet daugher Bentley on October 20, 2023.

Kerrigan Sheffield

Haley and Sarah met on a camping trip in the Rocky Mountains after Haley moved to Denver from Wisconsin, and they bonded over their love for northerners and camping. Sarah introduced Haley to her now fiancé shortly after, to whom she will be marrying in February 2024 in Mexico.
