Our Wedding

We met at the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre in May 2019 and were introduced briefly before auditioning for Macbeth. Zach made a self-deprecating joke about how he used to be cute as a baby and Katie said that he was still cute, making him blush.

The curtain rises...

After their first date, where Zach turned Katie's napkin into a rose at dinner, Katie knew that she would fall in love with Zach.

Katie was not alone though - Zach was caught looking at engagement rings by her relatives at her brother's (Max's) wedding !

In between bouts of board game tournaments, Zach &amp; Katie were again paired in- and out-side of the theatre.

Performing in More Plays

We moved in with each other early on in the pandemic era. We spent TONS of time outdoors and playing 2-player board games.

Social Distancing, but not from each other!

After much discussion, we decided to elect to foster a puppy looking for their fur-ever home. Zach surprised Katie with their new foster pup, but he ended up being a permanent addition to the family.

We got engaged in 2021 &amp; made it through many troubles &amp; travels.

We suggest flying into Gainesville Regional Airport, or Orlando International Airport, and renting a car for the weekend. Gaineville Airport is 25 minutes from the venue and 20-25 minutes from the suggested hotels but does not have direct flights from anywhere other than Dallas, Altlanta, and Charleston. Orlando is about a 2 hour drive, but there are direct flights and they can be cheaper.Feel free to explore Florida before or after the wedding while your here! St. Augustine, Orlando, Cedar Key, and&nbsp;Jacksonville all have lots to do and are within 1.5-2 hours from Gainesville. We would be happy to provide you with recommendations for activities, restaurants, and places to see!

(Recommended) This hotel is very close to the wedding venue (under 10 minutes) and near the highway. Easy to get to and from. Easy access to Gainesville and other nearby towns for things to do. We have a block reserved with the code WSW (Wallace-Simon Wedding)

Holiday Inn Express

This hotel is in Celebration Pointe in Midtown Gainesville, near lots of food and entertainment options. It is a little further from the wedding venue (25 minutes) but is another good option. We have a block booked for the wedding under Simon/Wallace. DOES NOT INCLUDE BREAKFAST.

Travel

Beautiful Botanical Gardens with a Koi pond where you can feed the fish. Good for an hour or two of wandering the paths through nature's wonders.

Kanpaha Botanical Gardens

Museum of Natural History at University of Florida. Multiple great exhibits and depending on the temperature, a Butterfly Garden. Inexpensive option for hours of exploring.

Florida Museum of Natural History

Art museum next to the Museum of Natural History. Beautiful works to explore.

Harn Museum of Art

Hiking trail to a long boardwalk. Great place to see live alligators and other cool wildlife!
