If you will be staying on Amelia Island, there's lots to see/do. There's a public beach access point within walking distance of the hotel. We also recommend exploring downtown Amelia Island- there's lots of local shops and restaurants/bars (we recommend any of the local seafood). Some of our favorites:
- Amelia Island Coffee
- Beaches Diner
- The Patio at 5th and Ash
- Vs Pizza
- The Book Loft
Visit the beach
You can easily stay on Amelia Island and have a beach day. But if you would like to explore further We highly recommend Neptune (Atlantic) beach or Talbot Island State Parks. Neptune beach has plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and is a more traditional beach town experience. The Talbot Island State Parks are closer to the hotel, and give a quieter beach experience since you have to pay to enter the state park.
Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens
One of the best zoos in America (in our completely biased opinion). Fun fact: McKenzie volunteered here in high school!
Cummer Museum
A great art museum that also has a beutiful garden overlooking the St Johns River with a great view of the Jacksonville skyline.
Riverside Arts Market
A fun local craft market close to downtown. Open on weekend mornings, and within walking distance of the Cummer Museum.
Little Talbot Island State Park
A beautiful beachfront state park with great walking trails and beautiful driftwood you can climb and explore.
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp
The local minor league baseball team
Jacksonville Icemen
Local minor league hockey team
