Max and Zoe love going to art museums, and this one is no exception! Both of them took art history courses at IU and were lucky to have such an established and diverse museum to explore for assignments.
A fun walking path to see the sights of Bloomington as well as a way to find a good coffee shop or a place to grab a quick bite to eat
Max highly recommends renting a kayak or going for a hike at one of the lakes in town (Griffy or Monroe.) There is also a nearby dog park if you bring your four legged friends!
As graduates of Indiana University Max and Zoe spent lots of time walking around the campus and highly recommend spending some time exploring the beauty of IU's campus to visitors. Top 3 recommendations of spots to hit are Sample Gates, Dunn Woods, and The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU.)
A family favorite for the Slaughters, and an early in the relationship date night spot for Zoe and Max. Zoe highly recommends getting grasshopper dipped in chocolate with eyeballs in a cone.
BBC has been an important part of Zoe's life since 5th grade as she and her soccer friends would get bagels before or after games/practices/hangouts etc. Zoe always orders a "Hot Mess" on a jalapeño bagel with jalapeño schemer while Max prefers either a Lox bagel or a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese.
If you're wanting to spend some time enjoy the beauty of Bloomington spring weather and all that downtown has to offer, take some time to walk around Kirkwood Ave and the square, whether to shop, eat, or even browse IU gear you will find pretty much anything you might need or want!
The Greenhouse is a fun little spot to see some cool plants or see the side of Campus where Max (and Zoe sometimes) spent their undergraduate times. The greenhouse is free to the public!
Nick's is a fun spot to grab some food and a beer, or if you're looking to go back to your college years play a round of sink the biz with your friends! Zoe's dad (Owen Slaughter) also has a brick outside the establishment, see if you can find it!
A classic Bloomington breakfast/lunch/dinner spot! Both the Zaret's and the Slaughter's have enjoyed plenty of meals and memories at Uptown. Zoe's dad actually proposed to her mom in booth #4! You can't go wrong with the gumbo hoosier style (mashed potatoes instead of rice) or the Louisiana Hot Pepper Chicken! Or the impossible burger/pasta dishes if you're not meat eater, like Zoe.
