Alexis and Zoe met in middle school, where Zoe sat behind Alexis in 7th grade Spanish, and thankfully Alexis decided to adopt the quiet introvert almost immediately. Zoe considers Alexis and the rest of the Peneff family her second home and couldn't imagine not having her by her side, both in life and for the wedding. Even if Alexis ignored Zoe's calls and texts the first 5 hours of being engaged, Zoe will still agree to matching Parabatai tattoos.

Jake and Max met in elementary school and throughout their childhood they roamed around Bloomington having many great adventures. Despite no longer living in the same state the adventures still continue...

Alisha and Zoe also met (and became best friends) in middle school and bonded over ballet and dance in general and referred to each other as "ballet buddies," in gym class. They still continue to send dance videos to each other on a daily basis and have claimed many of songs as "theirs" whether they ended up doing their planned choreography or not.

Thomas and Max met in preschool and grew up together playing in the creeks and streams of Bloomington for many years. As adults they no longer get to go on as many outdoor adventures but still enjoy finding the time to celebrate each others' lives

Nicole is also a middle school made best friend and Zoe still remembers what she calls the solidifying of the friendship when Nicole drank all of Zoe's chocolate milk at McKamey family dinner (because Zoe hates milk but didn't want to be rude) while her mom wasn't looking. Nicole was also the first person to propose to Zoe at a Taylor Swift concert in 10th grade, but they realized they were too young for such a commitment.

Will and Max met in 2020 when Max's sister (Anna) introduced Will as her partner to the Zaret family. Since then Max and Will have enjoyed playing pickle ball on the beach in North Carolina among other escapades.

Claire is Zoe's sister-in-law as she is married to Zoe's little brother Colin. Zoe was a bridesmaid in Claire's wedding and considers Claire an integral part of her life as a little sister and fellow romance novel reader. Zoe and Claire share a love of ceramic painting for hours, pretty cocktails, and putting up with their partner's Pokemon card expenses.

Zoe's little brother/best friend. Colin and Zoe are 3 years apart and once they graduated from the tormenting your sibling stage it evolved into a beautiful friendship. Colin has now cemented himself into Zoe's friend group and some of her friends even refer to Colin as "their friend." Max was actually the first person to buy Colin his first drink at a bar on his 21st birthday, which was a genderbend superhero halloween party with Zoe and Colin as Bucky Barnes & Black Widow. Colin and Max became fast friends and bond over gaming, Pokemon, and ganging up on Zoe. Since Colin got married before Zoe (thus no leverage), she has had to be on her best big sister behavior to ensure his toast doesn't reveal too many secrets.

Like Frodo, Charley is tasked with bearing the burden of the rings until they are exchanged.

Beloved first child of Zoe's friend group and son of one of Zoe's dearest and longest friendships (since infancy.) Also his mom is one of the greats too.

Taylor is one of Zoe's long standing friends. They took many of classes together (Taylor absolutely saved Zoe in AP STATS) at both North and IU with dreams of being doctors, and not only did Taylor accomplish that but he provides lots of medical comfort and stories to the friend group and doesn't require up front payment.

Fede is also a part of Zoe's long standing friend group forged in high school. They took a biomedical intervention class together and he quickly became a fast friend and close confidant. When Max and Zoe started dating and the friends were going to meet Max, Fede stated he would be crawling across the couch before sitting in my lap and saying "sup" so that Max understood our friendship dynamics.
