Our Story at a Glimpse

Abhi and I met the summer after our junior year attending East Lincoln High School. Through mutual friendships we began hanging out on the weekends, going on the lake with friends, and so much more. At the time we were both single and neither looking for anything serious. Ironic, considering we are now planning our wedding. After a while, we developed what at the time we called a crush. Neither expecting it to go anywhere, we went on a few dates and it soon turned into more. On November, 24th, 2018, Abhi asked me to be his girlfriend at our good friend Nicks house. The next day, I went to meet his entire family for their Thanksgiving celebration. During our senior year of high school, we enjoyed our time together trying not to think about what would happen when we graduated in May of 2019. During our last few months of high school we went to Prom together, on spring break trips to Ocean Lakes, holiday celebrations and weekends with our closest friends and family. Next thing we knew we were graduating and going to colleges 150 miles away from each other. We decided to make the best of it and see where long distance would take us as we began our college careers. Over our four years long distance we experienced some of our biggest challenges and most rewarding moments throughout our relationship. We were challenged to communicate in ways we had not yet learned, find lives of our own while building one together, and make the most of what little time we had together during our visits. If you were to ask us now, I think both of us would say it was the best thing that ever happened to us. It was tough to say the least, but we grew so much from something we never knew we would be capable of. As college came to a close, Abhi and I decided to move in together on June of 2023. Not long after, we took a graduation trip to Greece. On the most beautiful beach in Crete, Greece was where Abhi got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. With no hesitation, I said yes! Our story can't be summed up in a few paragraphs and if you're reading this, you probably have a story of your own to share about us. To those that are helping us celebrate, we want to thank you; thank you for also being a part of our story. It is because of so many of you that Abhi and I have been able to build such an amazing relationship surrounded by the most genuine, caring, and supportive people that we know and love. Thank you for always being there through so many ups and downs and we are so excited to celebrate our big day with you by our sides.
