Our story began in 2017, but it was shaped long before then by service, sacrifice, and the kind of love that has to earn its place through patience, courage, and time.
.
Abraham began his Army career when "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was still in place. He served before he could fully and openly bring his whole self to the uniform, learning early how to lead with strength, resilience, and quiet courage. His career has been shaped by public health, food safety, operational readiness, and a deep commitment to protecting the force.
.
Forrest’s path was different, but no less demanding. As an Army physician and surgeon, his service has been defined by long days, high expectations, and the weight of caring for others when the stakes are real. His career was shaped in operating rooms, hospitals, and military medical training environments where discipline, endurance, and compassion mattered every day.
.
The first two years of our relationship were spent mostly apart. Abraham was supporting operations in Eastern Europe and Africa, while Forrest was completing surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. While other couples were building routines, we were building trust across time zones, missed calls, long workdays, deployments, and the constant demands of military life.
.
Over time, our love became something steady. It became home. It became the place where we could finally exhale.
.
This wedding is more than a celebration. It is a chance to bring together the friends, family, mentors, and chosen family who went the extra mile to love and support us. It is also our hope that this day may help build bridges, heal old wounds, and remind everyone gathered that love, when given room to grow, can become something beautiful.
.
We are so grateful to share this moment with the people who have stood beside us, encouraged us, laughed with us, and loved us well. Thank you for being part of our story.
