Our Wedding

Our story began in 2017, but it was shaped long before then by service, sacrifice, and the kind of love that has to earn its place through patience, courage, and time..Abraham began his Army career when "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was still in place. He served before he could fully and openly bring his whole self to the uniform, learning early how to lead with strength, resilience, and quiet courage. His career has been shaped by public health, food safety, operational readiness, and a deep commitment to protecting the force..Forrest’s path was different, but no less demanding. As an Army physician and surgeon, his service has been defined by long days, high expectations, and the weight of caring for others when the stakes are real. His career was shaped in operating rooms, hospitals, and military medical training environments where discipline, endurance, and compassion mattered every day..The first two years of our relationship were spent mostly apart. Abraham was supporting operations in Eastern Europe and Africa, while Forrest was completing surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. While other couples were building routines, we were building trust across time zones, missed calls, long workdays, deployments, and the constant demands of military life..Over time, our love became something steady. It became home. It became the place where we could finally exhale..This wedding is more than a celebration. It is a chance to bring together the friends, family, mentors, and chosen family who went the extra mile to love and support us. It is also our hope that this day may help build bridges, heal old wounds, and remind everyone gathered that love, when given room to grow, can become something beautiful..We are so grateful to share this moment with the people who have stood beside us, encouraged us, laughed with us, and loved us well. Forrest met Timi in Hawaii during their Army medicine “island of lost toys” era, when two future surgeons somehow ended up sharing desks on a mysterious floor of Tripler that no one else seemed able to find.

Years, residencies, and Army assignments later, they found their way back to each other at Fort Hood — and Timi quickly became family to both of us. Abraham and Timi became instant friends, and in perfect warrant officer fashion, he has somehow appointed himself one of her closest advisors.

Timi is more sister than friend: brilliant, loving, deeply faithful, and a beautiful reflection of the faith, family, loyalty, and love we value most.

She is also the official stepmom of Jean-Luc and Riker, which is absolutely binding in this family.

We cannot imagine anyone better to marry us.

Abraham and Anthony’s brotherhood began the way all great friendships do: by being exiled from a party for accidentally wearing white to an all-black event. They arrived as strangers, were banished as outcasts, and somehow left with a lifelong bond.

Through distance, deployments, careers, weddings, and all the chaos life could throw at them, the friendship held. Anthony has been more than a friend — he has been a brother, a witness to Abraham’s life, and a constant no matter the miles between them.

In 2017, Anthony and his wife asked Abraham to serve as one of their padrinos de arras at their wedding. And in what Abraham considers fairly compelling evidence of favorite-person status, their firstborn son is named Abraham.

Some friendships are chosen. Some become family. This one did both.

Hailey is the little sister Abraham never asked for, and Abraham is the bigger, more attractive brother Hailey absolutely did not request. Their friendship began at work, where two Leos were placed far too close together and everyone else simply had to survive.Despite what Hailey says, Abraham is never arrogant, he is confident. Specifically, confident that he knows when Hailey is wrong. Hailey, in turn, has made it her mission to make Abraham more… approachable? While Abraham lovingly reminds her not to make people cry.They have worked together, traveled through Central America, survived each other’s opinions, and somehow built the kind of friendship that feels more like family than choice. Hailey’s children, Adam and Mikinzey, are so wonderful that while Abraham and Forrest would never trade Jean-Luc and Riker, if they were ever forced into human children, they would hope for kids exactly like them.After Abraham helped plan Hailey’s 2025 wedding, it only seemed fair to return the favor by lovingly torturing her into being part of his.
