Dickinson College

Picture of Dickinson College

Founded by Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and named after John Dickinson, Dickinson College was chartered in 1783, shortly after the end of the American Revolution. From 1956-1992, Alex's grandfather, Craig Houston, was Professor of Economics at Dickinson. The historic tree-lined campus, with majestic limestone buildings, is adjacent to downtown Carlisle and worth exploring!
