Getting to Taormina for the Wedding

If you're planning to take the most efficient route to get to Taormina, Sicily, you'll likely be flying into Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (CTA). While direct flights to Catania are not always available, you can find convenient options with layovers in major European cities.

Flight Options

Most flights from New York and New Jersey to Catania Airport (CTA) will include layovers. We recommend checking with airlines for the most up-to-date flight schedules and availability. Major European hubs like Rome, Milan, or Frankfurt often offer connecting flights to Catania. You can always stay 1-2 nights in a different European city and then book a short flight to Catania Airport from there. This tends to be a more cost-effective option!

We flew Norse Atlantic Airways to Rome and then AeroItalia from Rome to CTA. Norse Atlantic Airways seems to have the most reasonable fares to get to Italy!

Plan Ahead

As flights with layovers may involve longer travel times, we advise planning your itinerary several months in advance. Consider factors such as layover duration, total travel time, and connectivity to Catania when selecting your flights.

Book Early

To secure the best deals and availability, we recommend booking your flights well in advance, especially during peak travel seasons. Flexible travel dates can also provide more options for convenient flight connections.
