Ten years ago Allie was starting her freshman year at Tulane and Andrew was returning for his sophomore year. It was only the first few weeks of school, around late August early September when Louisiana's forecast is limited to hot and humid or torrential downpour. It was a random weeknight and Allie was getting ready to head over to the local watering hole with her friends, as all good freshmen do. Andrew volunteered to spend his sophomore year in the freshman dorms with the new baseball recruits. Little did Allie know, just two floors down Andrew and his new teammates had similar plans. Later that evening at The Boot, one of Tulane’s finest establishments, Allie and her girlfriend were on the prowl for beverages. It was then Allie spotted Andrew and his teammate Cameron at the bar. Without hesitation, Allie walked up to Andrew and asked “are you trying to buy me a drink?” Andrew caught off guard but intrigued, entertained Allie’s request. They mingled over drinks for a short while when Allie yet again abruptly asked “so are you going to dance with me?” As many of you may know, there’s no stopping Allie when you give her a dance floor and music. The ball was in Andrews court, and boy did he come to play. The two danced the night away and the rest is history.
