What is the dress code?
The ceremony and reception is Black Tie optional. Feel free to dust off that gown and go for it, or dance the night away in your favorite cocktail dress or suit.
The welcome party is dressy casual. Meaning come in your Sunday best but be ready for some BBQ.
What are the COVID safety guidelines for the wedding weekend?
The health and safety of our guests are important to us. We will follow all federal and state requirements. We do ask you to use an abundance of care. If you feel sick or are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of smell and taste, or other known COVID symptoms on the wedding weekend, we request you refrain from participating for everyone's safety.
What are the meal options?
The menu is not quite set yet, but we plan to have a meat, poultry, fish, and vegetarian option as well as a children-friendly meal.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The welcome dinner will be indoors at Quail Point Lodge - with outdoor areas available for those who may want to get more fresh air while enjoying a drink.
The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (Falls Point) given the weather cooperates with us. It will be on a grassy area overlooking the lake. Please take that into consideration for shoes.
The wedding reception will be indoors (Yacht Club Ballroom).
What is the Welcome Dinner and who is invited?
Everyone is invited. The Welcome Dinner is a chance to say hello, have some drinks and enjoy Texas BBQ. We will be there for several hours, so if you get in past starting time feel free to come over anyway. We will be very happy to see you.
What can I do at Horseshoe Bay Resort during my free time?
Horseshoe Bay Resort has many amenities which are available to you if staying at the Hotel or Palm Villas. There are multiple pools, an outdoor pool & patio bar area, an oversized rock landscaped hot tub, lakeside beach, several golf courses, a mini-golf course, a sports bar, tennis, health club, spa, many boating options, and more. Additional activities in the surrounding areas are noted on our "Things to Do" page of this website.
What transportation recommendations are there for the wedding weekend?
If flying into Texas, we recommend Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) which is about one hour fifteen minutes (60 miles) away from Horseshoe Bay Resort. The resort can provide pick-up and drop-off service at AUS airport, but it is rather pricey (approx. $200 each way per van). We recommend renting a car which will provide you with more flexibility.
Once at Horseshoe Bay Resort – our welcome dinner, wedding ceremony and reception are all within walking distance of the hotel and Palm Villas. The resort also has plenty of parking at each venue if you choose to drive.
What are lodging options?
Horseshoe Bay Resort has multiple lodging options. We are holding a block of rooms at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Hotel at a discounted rate. Please use the link in the travel section of this website or refer to Allie Oricchio and Andrew Garner wedding block when calling to book your reservation. The discount is good for hotel rooms and Palm Villas across the street. If the block is used up, please reach out to us and we will try to expand it.
There are also multiple Airbnb or VRBO options within Horseshoe Bay. If you want to be within walking distance to the ceremony and reception – please look at the site on map to be certain. The Horseshoe Bay community is very big and some of the Airbnb/VRBO locations could be a car drive away. Other hotel options are in Marble Falls which is a 15-minute (8 miles) ride away. We are not holding blocks at the other hotels recommended in our travel section.
What will the weather be like at Horseshoe Bay?
Weather can be variable in March – with daytime high temperatures typically 70-80 degrees, and nighttime low temperatures 40-60 degrees. The nights tend to be much cooler than daytime highs. Please check weather websites as you get closer to wedding dates for more accurate forecasts. If outdoors at night, a light jacket, sweater, or shawl is nice to have.
