Can I bring a +1?
We have carefully considered all of the guests that we have invited. Anyone permitted to bring a guest will have their invitation specifically stating so. If you need accommodations for a +1 (such as needing a caretaker with you), please reach out to us.
Why are you asking for a fun fact when we RSVP?
If you attend, you are more than likely going to be sitting at a table with people you don't know during the dinner and reception. We will be putting a list of conversation starters at the tables to get to know those that you are sitting with! Don't worry, we will not make announcements about your fun fact for all to hear ;)
How should I dress?
We kindly ask that our guests dress formally. Dress pants and a dress shirt for men and modest dresses or pantsuits for women.
The ceremony may take place outdoors in a grassy area (weather permitting), so please take that into consideration if you are planning on wearing heels.
Is there any clothing that we should avoid wearing?
We kindly ask that you avoid colors that are traditionally reserved for the bride: whites, creams, and ivories. Please also avoid casual wear such as: jeans, cargo pants, khaki shorts, t-shirts, hoodies/sweatshirts, tank tops and flip flops (for men), and any shirts with the sleeves ripped off. Please also avoid extremely short dresses.
Are kids invited?
Due to the extensive work that went into planning and setting up for this event, we hope you understand that our wedding will be child-free aside for those that are included in the immediate family. We want our loved ones to enjoy their night where everyone can let loose with their sailor mouths, dancing, and alcohol.
What if I don't RSVP by the deadline?
If we do not receive an RSVP back from you by our March 8th deadline, you will be marked as "not attending". The reason for this is because we need to provide accurate guest counts to all our vendors in a timely manner.
Will the ceremony and Reception be in the same place?
Both the ceremony and the reception will be in the same place! Our venue includes outdoor spaces for gathering, as well as a large, temperature controlled room to dine and dance in.
Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
The ceremony and reception will be taking place at the beautiful Almquist Farm in Hastings, MN on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Is there parking onsite?
There will be parking on-site. The venue is also easily accessible to ride-share companies, such as Lyft and Uber.
What time should I arrive?
Our ceremony will be starting promptly at 3:30 PM. We ask that you plan your travels to arrive at the venue 20-30 minutes before the ceremony to give you enough time to grab a program, find a seat, and settle in.
What time will the reception be over?
Due to the rules of our venue's township, music needs to be off by 11:15. However, we will be wrapping up our reception by 10 PM in order to ensure that the venue can be cleaned promptly and the last car leaves the premises by 11:59 PM. We understand a lot of people work the next day and want to make sure our loved ones can make it back home in time for their beauty rest.
Can I leave my vehicle overnight at the venue if I have a little too much to drink?
Yes! The owners of the Almquist farm graciously allow guests to park overnight. The gates to the venue will open at 9 AM the following day and will close again at noon. Please arrange to pick your vehicles up. If you need to be accommodated with extra time, please call the venue at 651-408-4030
Is there a lot of walking to get to the ceremony site?
We have our fingers crossed that the weather will be as beautiful on our wedding day as it was last year on April 13th! If the weather is 60 degrees or above, we will be holding the ceremony onsite, which is a short walk from the parking lot. If you need assistance to get to that area, the owners of the venue will bring you there via a golf cart.
Do you have a room block?
We have set up a room block with the nearby Treasure Island Resort and Casino. Please call 1-800-222-7077 and let the operator know that you would like to book a room block for the Westphal-Mesch wedding. We encourage our guests who are traveling from out of state to book one of the April 12th rooms so you are able to relax before joining the party.
Will there be a shuttle for Hotel block guests?
We are waiting for the Treasure Island Transportation Department to get back to us regarding the details of booking shuttles for our guests. Once we hear back, we will update this Q&A!
What happens if I decide I no longer want to come after I RSVP?
We understand some things are bound to happen where you are unable to make it to our special day, such as illness, travel difficulties, etc. If this is something you experience, we wish that we could celebrate with you but you and your health are more important to us. For other circumstances, however, we ask that you are absolutely sure on your decision to attend when you are RSVPing. We did our best to give our guests ample time to plan around our event, such as giving them the time, date, and location, when we sent our Save the Dates 9 months prior to the wedding. Vendors charge a lot of money per guest and any no-shows will not result in a refund for us. We will not "give away" your seat to another guest, so, again, please be cognizant and sure when RSVPing.
