She swiped right and the rest is history!

Joshua & Alyssa met on Bumble in August of 2020, when “normal” was a thing of the past. On Bumble, females initiate a match by swiping right to indicate interest first. Joshua & Alyssa’s first conversation was about their cats, Meeka & Kiki and their first date (at KS Bar & Grille) was weeks later.

In 2020, when the world was on pause because of COVID-19, the couple got to know each other while dealing with quarantines, constant masking and travel guidelines that were always changing. They didn’t let the uncertainty of the world get in the way of their relationship and made things “Facebook” official on December 16, 2020.

Over the last three years, they’ve grown as a couple and experienced many adventures! Alyssa changed jobs early in their relationship and Joshua moved from Richmond to Lexington to eliminate the thirty-minute commute between them in July of 2022.

The couple loves to travel and they’ve visited Florida, Montana, Missouri (Go Cardinals!), North Carolina, Ohio, Texas & West Virginia (where Alyssa is from) together. They’ve also made several trips to their favorite place, Rough River Lake, can usually be found at Kroger Field during football season, cheering on UK!

They also enjoy going to concerts, spending time with their cats, going on walks and being with their family and friends.

Joshua proposed on March 24, 2023 (the day before Alyssa’s birthday), and while the two are enjoying their engagement, they can’t wait to start their lives together as husband & wife!
