Please make sure that if you are attending any of the events but are not camping overnight, that you have a sober ride back to where you are staying. We don't really have Uber or Lyft but there are a few taxi companies in Durango. If anyone has concerns about transportation please reach out to us as soon as you know where you will be staying so we can help coordinate safe rides for everyone.

What will the weather be like?

August is usually the start of monsoon season in southwest Colorado. Typically it is sunny and clear in the morning and early afternoon. Then clouds start to build and it usually downpours around 4ish for like 20-30 minutes. After that it usually clears up for the rest of the afternoon and evening. We definitely recommend bringing a rain jacket. For folks who are camping it can get cold at night so we recommend bringing some warm clothes and sleeping bags. If you're checking the weather before heading up to the venue we recommend checking the weather forecast for Purgatory resort instead of the forecast for Durango.

Should I be concerned about the altitude?

Durango is at 6,500' elevation and Chris Park is at 7,900' elevation. This shouldn't be high enough to give anyone altitude sickness if they're coming out from sea level but it might make you feel a bit tired and give you headaches if you're dehydrated. It can also accelerate the effects of alcohol. We recommend just drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated. If you're drinking alcohol we recommend drinking a glass of water between every drink or two.

Is there cell phone service?

There is a little cell phone service at the campground. We have Verizon and were able to get enough service to send texts and make calls. We aren't sure about service from other providers though.
