Hiking and Mountain Biking

There are endless miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking in the area. In the Durango area some of our favorites are the Colorado Trail and the Skyline Trail. If you're looking for more mountains and less oxygen we recommend checking out Pass Creek Trail on Coal Bank Pass or the Colorado Trail up on Molas Pass.

The train is probably the biggest tourist attraction in town. It runs from Durango to the mountain town of Silverton 50 miles north of Durango traveling through the beautiful San Juan Mountains. If you plan on riding the train while you're here just be aware that it is an all day affair. There is an option to ride the train to Silverton and then take a bus back to Durango if you're looking for a slightly shorter option.
