This is the easiest way to get to Durango, however flights can be a bit expensive. We recommend tracking flights early so you have the best chance of finding a decent price. The airport is about 20 minutes outside of Durango. There are car rentals available at the airport as well as options for getting a ride service into town.
Montrose is about 2-1/2 hours from Durango and sometimes has cheaper flight options. Also the drive from Montrose to Durango along the Million Dollar Highway is stunning. If you take this route be prepared to drive over multiple winding mountain passes along the way but the views are worth it!
Albuquerque is the closest major airport to Durango, about 3-1/2 hours away. The drive from Albuquerque to Durango isn't the prettiest but flights are usually much more affordable.
Denver is about 6 hours away from Durango but has the most flight options. The drive from Denver to Durango is incredible as it traverses across the mountainous part of the state. You can do the drive in one push or make some stops along the way in the many mountain towns you'll pass if you're looking to extend your trip.
We booked the entire campground for Friday and Saturday night for anyone who wants to camp. Everyone is welcome to camp one night, both nights, or not at all. All events will take place at the campground so it's the closest you can get. There is tons of room for tents, vans, campers, and RVs. There are even a few sites with electric hookups for campers/RVs. The campground has running water, charcoal grills, fire pits, and pit toilets. If you're going to camp please just let us know when you RSVP. We are able to check in at 2:00 PM on Friday and are supposed to check out at 12:00PM on Sunday. We'll send out more information about the campground as the event gets closer but if you have any questions in the meantime feel free to reach out.
There are tons of hotel and AirBnb's available in Durango. Durango is the closest town to the venue, about a 20 minute drive. It is a tourist town in the summer so we recommend looking for places to stay early as they tend to stay up. Durango is the best option if you're looking to be close to bars, restaurants, stores, etc.
Purgatory is the local ski resort. It's about 30 minutes north of Durango, and about 10 minutes north of the venue. There are tons of lodging options in the area with plenty of beautiful mountain views. There are a few restaurants and bars in the area and a small general store, however not nearly as many options as Durango.
Buckhorn is the most reliable ride service in town. They can provide rides from the airport. They can also provide rides to and from the venue if needed. Just make sure you schedule any rides with them as they are typically busy on summer weekends. Don't rely on Uber or Lyft for getting around town, they're aren't many drivers and they rarely show up.
