They matched on a Christian dating app called FTH (now called Upward) and had a very important first conversation where Amanda obviously emphasized style and Cameron obviously prioritized the quantity of food.

After a few weeks of not communicating, Amanda made the bold move of reaching out with a compliment on Cameron's even bolder COVID hair color choice after months of quarantine. This sparked more conversation and ultimately led to their first phone call on September 24th.

After many more phone calls, video calls, and back and forth about trying to get together, they had their first date (also the first time seeing each other in person) in Phillipsburg, NJ. They ate at Aman's Indian restaurant in Easton, home of Cameron's Alma Mater, Lafayette College. The first long awaited hug shared was something of fairytales.

Their second date was postponed a bit due to Cameron being locked up in a hotel room for two weeks as a precautionary COVID quarantine. However, this time allowed them to talk intentionally about their vision for the future, and gave Cameron the chance to have a conversation with Amanda's pastor before deciding to make anything official. For this second time together, they went to church together, and visited Cam's mom and enjoyed a beautiful home cooked meal and a movie. That night, they officially committed to pursuing a dating relationship together. Of course, Chi Chi was an important part of this decision and definitely approved of her mother's choice in a suitor.

As a relationship that began 3 hours apart, they needed to find a solid halfway point for the days they couldn't travel all the way to one another's neck of the woods. Fortunately, the beautiful Lackawanna State Park falls just past the halfway point for them. They spent the first time meeting here walking around some trails and playing board games at a picnic table. Time together was cherished after so long apart.

As two students, time spent together was precious and often meant intermixing conversations and food with trying to do homework or listening in on Zoom classes simultaneously. Fortunately, Argon fell for Amanda almost as quickly as Cameron did!

As the first holiday season spent together as a couple, Cam made the unique choice to introduce Amanda to his family in matching pajamas on Christmas day. Amanda instantly fell in love with his family.

The holiday season was split between time with Amanda's and Cameron's families where the matching Christmas spirit continued with cute couples' masks, mesmerizing hexagonal gingerbread houses, and making the most of every moment together.

Their relationship continued with the goal to try and see each other as often as possible, prioritizing intentional time together, and having fun. Some of these fun moments involved giving Cameron a facial and painting Amanda's nails.

Chi Chi has always been an integral part of their relationship and as such, sharing kisses with her became a very regular occurrence.

A late Valentine's day celebration involved enjoying the frozen beauty of Ithaca waterfalls followed by a gorgeous date to Coltivare with an incredible chocolate dessert.

When March rolled around, they enjoyed a trip to the spa together for pedicures (Cameron's first) in addition to spending a birthday weekend in Ithaca with Cameron's family.

A little bit of a late celebration of Amanda's birthday and Cam passing his PhD candidacy exam meant dressing up for a surprise dinner back to Aman's where they had spent their first date together. Earlier that weekend, they also got to dress up for Cameron's sister's graduation from the police academy, which meant they had a few days back to back of sweet memories and super cute outfits.

They got to enjoy their first long road trip together which included 6 hours of driving to visit Caleb and Abby, Cameron's brother and sister-in-law. They enjoyed beach volleyball, swimming in the lake, and a tasty meal at the Twisted Carrot in Plattsburgh, NY, as well as a glimpse into what life together as a married couple would look like. The weekend just made them more and more excited for the idea of future road trips, conversations, down-time, family gatherings, and all the new experiences they hope for in their lives together.

They had a trip planned to Scranton, PA,- our beloved halfway point- but unbeknownst to Amanda, Cameron had a bigger purpose for this day. Cameron drove alllll the way down to Easton, PA to pick her up, and they drove to Scranton. They started their day at Nay Aug Park, and Cam surprised Amanda with a walk through the lush Rose Garden and hiking along a gorge. Amanda had been expecting a proposal for some time now, but had been trying to convince herself that it wasn't happening yet so she wouldn't get disappointed.

Cameron then pretended to go get smoothies with Amanda while really taking her to get a manicure he had scheduled for her. At this point, Amanda knew what this special daytrip was about but still could not piece together the details of where and when he might pop the question. Of course, they had to still go get fresh smoothies anyway with Amanda's nails freshly painted. While getting smoothies, Cameron suggested that they get changed into their nice dinner clothes in the big bathrooms at Lackawanna State Park "near" the restaurant and Amanda happily agreed.

They then headed to the Historic Iron Furnaces where they enjoyed a beautiful field with massive stone and brick furnaces no longer in operation. Amanda danced around the whole place while they sang and took a bunch of photos. Meanwhile, Cameron was trying to stall before heading over to "dinner" while fending off an excited Amanda who was interested in heading to the park early. Cameron knew that could not happen but could not realistically stall any longer.

Just as the rain stopped, they arrived at the park already cutting it close to make it to dinner on time as Amanda was expecting. However, the stalling continued as Cameron missed the turn and drove around the park a little to give time for his photographer and former college roommate, Alex, to get in position. They both got changed in the bathrooms and Amanda climbed back into the car ready to head out. Cameron was a sweaty mess of nerves as he made his way back to the car trying to keep the ring box hidden in his pocket. He opened the passenger door and asked Amanda to go for a walk with him at their favorite halfway point park they had visited so many times before. After a short walk, Cameron shared his heart with Amanda and got down on one knee with a very anticipated question for Amanda. Amanda said yes to a lifetime together amidst the cheers of a local birthday party and the clicks of photos by one of Cameron's close friends.
