The first trip: William flies to Toronto to meet Amanda in person for the first time with her parents, Bryan and Lisa. Their first date is at the Canadian Nation Exhibition.

Amanda visits Florida for the first time, and William gives her the full Disney Christmas experience. William introduces Amanda to his parents, Isauro and Norma-Anne.

William visits Toronto while Amanda’s brother Cory and his kids Desirae and Declan are visiting and meets them for the first time. William is obliterated by the kids in the water gun wars.

With the help of his mom, Norma-Anne, Amanda plans a surprise trip on William's birthday. The catch: William was planning on doing a 5K- so Amanda and Norma joined him!

The first vacation: To celebrate their graduation, Amanda and William take a cruise. They both manage to catch the flu and spend the next week on the couch.

William visits Ontario again for the wedding of his life-long friend, Emil. Amanda gleefully assumes the role of Chauffeur to the Bride and Groom.

Amanda visits North Carolina for Christmas to meet Grandma Christa for the first time. William surprises Amanda with a promise ring.

The world turns upside down, and the US-Canada border closes indefinitely. William and Amanda find they can do nothing but wait.

The Canada-US border reopens on August 9th. Amanda is in Florida by the 27th, marking an end to 613 days of separation.

After months of work, William's paperwork to move to Canada is finally submitted. They celebrate with a return trip to the CNE. Now the waiting game begins.

Amanda travels to Florida for the wedding of Erlyn and Zaccariah. William doesn't know it, but a week later, Amanda will fly back the next weekend to surprise him for his birthday. Neither of them knows that this is the final long-distance trip- the immigration paperwork is approved weeks later.

Amanda flies to Orlando to help William and Izzy with packing the shipping container (in 100+ degree heat). William enters Canada as a permanent resident at last. The couple settle in Pickering east of Toronto with their cat, Bertie.

Rootbeer joins the family, marking the end of the moving-in process.

Standing in the light tunnel at Canada's Wonderland Winterfest, Amanda remarks that the area is surprisingly deserted. She turns around to find William dropping to one knee to propose!
