Joe let me take the reins on “Our Story”- and rightfully so, so here we go!

During my sophomore year at Ferris State University (Go Dawgs!!), I noticed something very particular and very out of place. This something was a hockey player in the science building- alone. For those of you who dont know, hockey players major in business- and nearly always travel in small packs. My soccer friends and I found this so odd and slightly amusing, that he was dubbed Ginger Hockey Player. After months of referring to Joe as Ginger Hockey Player, my mom brilliantly suggested that I utilize the roster online to figure out his actual name- and more importantly- what in the world he was doing in the science building. After some quick research, I found his name and discovered he was a pre-med major. Interesting to say the least.

For no reason in particular, I decided that if Joe and I were to ever meet we would be excellent friends (and no- he had no clue I even existed at this point in time). Life went on and Joe continued to be Ginger Hockey Player as well as an endeared character in Ferris State Womens Soccers day to day conversations. That is until- a one Kate Kelly decided to introduce me to him-- in real life. And where did this pivotal introduction take place? The one, the only- THE Star Shooters. I asked Joe (because I am cool and smooth) if it was difficult to play hockey while doing pre-med level classes, to which he replied I got a A on my last chemistry exam. -- a true icon.

From there Joe and I got to know each other. He introduced me to the Ferris State Hockey Team and I introduced him to the third floor at Flight Library. We became best friends and then developed a relationship. I have met some of my closest friends through Joe and have had some of the best times of my life with Joe. We have spent the last 7 years growing up together, laughing together, and experiencing some of the biggest accomplishments of our lives together.

We both feel so blessed that God brought us together. It has also been so special to share our Catholic Faith . We are excited to continue to grow in this faith by experiencing the Holy Sacrament of Marriage. We also cannot wait to share this experience with all of you. Each one of you have played a special role in our individual and therefore combined story.
