Q + A

Weather?

On our wedding day, it was a whopping high of 26*F and lows at 8*F!!! It was freezing! But there was fresh snow on the ground that made everything look magical. The parking lot and streets were a frozen ice rink. Several of us almost died just getting out of cars.

Wedding Events?

All family gathered at the cabin by 10am on the day of the wedding. For the next 3 hours, the girls viciously attacked Amanda and turned her from a beast into a beautiful princess!!! They did her hair, nails, make up, and pampered her all morning! Zach had to get ready all by his lonesome, but it only took about 10 minutes... So not fair. At 1pm, the photographer arrived to take get the layout of the land. Several friends began arriving as well. At 1:30pm, Amanda and Zach had their first look with family and friends watching. Afterwards, most of the obligatory family photo poses were knocked out of the way. At 2pm, Cameron (Amanda's brother/officiant) ushered everyone outside and the ceremony began. 2:22pm- Amanda & Zach were pronounced man and wife!!! YAY! Everyone went inside to warm up while Amanda and Zach took off for couple's photos. Around 3pm, there was cake cutting followed by the daddy-daughter dance and the first dance inside the cabin. At four, the Taco Bar and cakes were opened for all to enjoy. There were lots of laughs, conversation, and photo taking throughout the evening and afternoon. Amanda would like it to be known that after all the guests left, she took a solid 2.5hr nap to make up for the lack of sleep from the 3 weeks preceding this event. Zach would like everyone to know he has still not caught up on the lack of sleep he endured due to Amanda's stress.

Did anything go wrong?

Of course! We were prepared for something to happen as it always does. However, for us, this happened to be the entire wedding ceremony set up itself. Initially, we had planned on having the ceremony down on the other end of the property in front of an adorable red barn. With the intense cold and the sheet of ice that covered the roads, paths, and any flat surface- we almost died numerous times just trying to go a few feet, let along the other side of the property... So we scrapped that plan completely and created a whole new set up for the ceremony on the cabin front deck. It was stressful but turned out to be perfect! We would not want it any other way now!
